On TSN JF Jr took a shot at Gainey for his trade of Huet and his lack of moves - that's why Gainey is a GM and Jr is sittin next to Mike Millbury I really think we're in good shape - we've improved on last yr. No one expected the Habs to be this good this yr. In reality, we're still building for the future. We've got 20 yr old players in the line up for God's sake. Let the team grow together. As for this yr, the only team in the East with moves was Pitts. Bobby Mac points out the issues they have - they just gutted their team for a 3 month rental player in hopes they will win the cup this yr. I would add does anyone really think they're going to win with Ty Conklin as their goalie? No matter what type of reg season he is having. Finally as for Price being number 1. Ganiey has seen both Dryden and Roy. I think it's clear he's rolling the dice on that experience. Lets see where this goes. Regardless, we're improved yr over yr - and i think the goal at the start was to make the playoffs this yr. Lets lower our expectations a little and watch the team we have grow

LOL - Time for everyone to relax again. Habs just need to get their heads out the clouds a little and concentrate on their own end. All this talk of number 1 in the east and trade rumours have this young team a little off their game. Also think a west team that's not in the playoffs, we have no history with, and plays a trap - was pure boredom for the team. I know it put me to sleep

would we rather Hossa or Richards?

k - so Mac & Dreger are now throwing out the name of Brad Richards as someone else Montreal could be interested in. Thoughts?

Someone look at Hossa's playoff stats before you get to excited

Just one more thing - I know we're all pumped - but lets not overlook that big win in NJ down 3-1 in the 3rd. I don't think last nite was possible without that win. Everything is pointing to success going forward. Now the question will be - can Carbo keep his hands off the lines?

We've already made our "trade" -it's called playin Ryder as we should have been doing all yr. Great win and loving the chemistry - not much to say that hasn't already been said.

just catchin up on some posts here - have the day off - sorry guys don't agree at all - have heard not one media person mention carbo as a coaching canidate. I think we all could have picked these lines - in fact i think carbo throws names in a hat and picks them out. Loved him as a player - and really want him to succeed as a coach - but keeping a 30 goal scorer in the dog house all year while playin lesser players is beyond me. In reality we have one line - we need some consistency here over the last quarter of season.

our best course of action is to do - Nothing - except maybe very minor moves - ie adding a little toughness/grit. Might be alright to have a heavyweight in the pressbox if things get tough in the playoffs. Other than that - I'm happy with a 1st or second round playoff appearance and we'll see where it goes. Let this team mature togther. No need to mess with this chemistry. 3 things killed us last yr 1) the flu 2) no backup goalie 3) the aweful demotion of Lapierre for a couple of weeks mid season the killed the chemistry. So far we've avoided that - and really grew as a team from last yr. This group now needs some playoff experience. Remain calm and please play Ryder. If he plays to form over the last quarter and the playoffs - that's as good as any pickup we could make without changing anything.

If those three trades had been made we would be in last place in the league. Huet other than this little recent stretch has been awesome - probably played a little too much who's fault is that? (Carbo) Koivu just wants some consistency - he's basically the heart of the team - who's fault is it that he hasn't had the same line all yr - reverse of Kovalev last yr (Carbo) and Ryder has be unjustly blamed and faulted for everything that has gone wrong on a WINNING team - we've left our 30 goal scorer over the last 2 seasons out to dry. Now who's fault is that - (Carbo) I loved Carbo as a player - just as I loved Trembley & Houle - and look where that got us. Anyway - nice post - I guess I'm just on the other side of the fence on this one
