The avatar is a play on Bash. STOP! Male (that’s me) bashing. Or Stop and listen … a male is bashing (making comments about stuff) Having said that I do believe that males are taking far too much of the blame for various societal issues. For instance our school systems are struggling with students left behind academically, ADHD, bullying etc. The “victims" are disproportionately male. Honors rolls, scholarships, student governance are disproportionately female. I don’t hear anyone screaming about either. But if the coin was flipped the other way? So good to beat Boston but there were some serious gaffes last night and a lot of room for improvement. Obviously, Gilbert does not handle the heavy forecheck very well. Emelin was responsible for that tying goal when he came right across to land a hit, almost colliding with Subban before the two scrambled back, floundering in front of Price. I don’t understand the "Subban punch-check". What is that? He dismisses the opportunity to land a solid shoulder, takes one hand off the stick and straight punches the guy in the back or shoulder. But aside from our D core issues we have several bright lights up front. Sekac can play! Who knew? "If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." (anon)

Buck Foston! I was talking to Bwooins fan tonight. He said that Weiss deserves trouble because he taunted Lucic :) I set him right…left…right! "If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." (anon)

Ten years ago Boone did an article about our rec room - a veritable shrine of Habs memorabilia woven together for our playoff run. When he was in contact with my son the interview closed with this comment: “Montreal is where I want to live!” Son was 15 at the time. This morning he left Calgary where he has been working for the last few years and is moving to Montreal! He has tickets for tonight’s game. A dream come true. The Morning Bash Orpik was up Pac’s arse all night with several good hits, lots of borderline holding/interference and one “almost a season ender blind side hit”. Get used to it Max. You are the marked man! You have no protection from your smurf linemates, as brave as they are. Sekac has the wheels and skills to play with Pleks/Galchen. A few hesitations here and there, an unwillingness to shoot all smack of rookie confidence issues... that will change. Gilbert, Weaver and Beaulieu were good under a heavy forecheck. But we could have used Tinordi’s physical play… no surprise. Tokarski might be too good to play backup. He is one of several who could compose an enticing trade package at some point. Sportsnet play by play and (lack of) colour were bad enough to be funny. "If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." (anon)

I wonder if Bobby Clobber is Boston’s answer to the Montreal problem of Weiss etc. They can’t afford to lose Lucic who could reasonably be charged with intent ( a la the Moore incident). So they release the expendable lifer goon to exact some sort of revenge. Worst case scenario, he targets someone like Emelin. Btw that fight was triggered by two Bruins running Ronaldo who I believe was the culprit on the Seidenberg injury. So what exactly is our strategy? So much hope but so many questions. If Jean Q’s stars align this could be an amazing season! After all we have the goalie, the stud D and a potential 50 goal scorer. Still I feel some trepidation: Gilbert? Bergevin exhumed Weaver and he was solid but pulling the same trick twice would be amazing. Weaver? He was solid alright. Now what? Sekac? Rookie of the year or overwhelmed by the NHL grind? Parenteau? First line contributor and a PP boost or third line by December? Gallagher? Continues to grow or wishes he could? Emelin? Cruisin’ and bruisin’ or on the trade block? Team toughness? Is this really a new NHL? The best case scenario makes me giddy. And the worst is that we get to see a lot more of those late cuts.
