    There were concussions years ago but they were largely ignored..."got his bell rung" was a common phrase. Doctors were not as knowledgeable about this potentially debilitating injury. Now the players are bigger, faster and wear hard plated armour. Throw in a good dose of "hit to hurt and intimidate" and you have a recipe for an emerging epidemic.     The Leafs fans deserve better really. Haven't they suffered too long? But the endless TO media stroking has made it impossible to feel anything but good about it.     In Nl, as many of you might know "stunned" is often intended to mean utterly stupid. Every time they refer to the Leafs bench as "stunned" I crack up.
