Cap issues aside, are you trying to say we would be a better team had Gainey not made the trade and kept, Higgins (36 points), McDonagh (1 pt), Valentenko (No NHL games, career AHLer?) Janik (2 points) over Gomez (101 points, 14 of them play-off points) Pyatt (9 pts)

Now it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Sather screwed the pooch on the Gomez contract, but I'd rather have him and Pyatt, rather than Higgins, who really is the only bonefide NHLer right now and who's been through 3 teams since the deal, out of the 4 players the Habs dealt, even at Higgin's 1.6 cap. hit.

In my opinion, they both should have went to the box. Did you notice how Ovie waited until Subban's back was turned before he went after him? Ovechkin gets away with blue murder. I actually like the way the kid sticks up for himself. He has to be doing something right, if players like Richards, Crosby and Ovechkin complain about his moxie.

Some one should forward this cartoon to Bruce Garrioch from the Ottawa Sun. He's been really slacking on his trade rumours / make believe / great American novel articles lately. I mean everyone knows teams are just lining up to trade for L'Eartless, according to ol' Brucey Boy, but that's starting to get stale now.

It sounds like he could get an armful of un-substantiated BS from this cartoon alone. Just think Bruce, a weeks worth of fantasy reporting is only a click away!

I agree with the NHL's rule that players must go through waivers before playing for one specific team. The whole idea of the new CBA was to bring parity to the league. When you allow the 'Haves' to pick up any star player, who is not signed or owned by a NHL team, you eliminate the idea of parity. This way the 'Have Nots' have a chance to equalize a part of their team that they might be lacking in. It makes sense to me.

Someone mentioned earlier about ending the entrance draft because of the salary cap rules. In my opinion, this would leave some teams with a distinct advantage. For instance, players who grow up in the toronto area, tend to want to play for the leafs (don't ask me why) Seeing how a lot of great hockey players come out of Southern Ontario, it would eventually make the leafs a power house, not unlike Chicago or Pittsburgh are now, who built their respective teams by legitimate means. (by sucking for 3 or 4 years and having access to 1st and 2nd overall picks) Especially seeing how there is a maximun salary ($985,000?) that is paid to rookies. A team could load up on new top notch players every year, and never have to worry about a salary cap. There is a draft for a reason, and if some 18 year old doesn't like where he's been drafted to, well then maybe he should look into another career.

Too bad Boone and Stubbs didn't have the cajoles to bench you, especially after your insensitive and rude "Omar The Tentmaker" remark to that wonderful and knowledgeable fellow with the 'Toronto Maple Losers' avatar. It might come as a surprise to you, but big boned people have feelings too, just ask Boone if you don't believe me.

Anyway, there's no chance anyone would mistake you for a rookie though, maybe George Burns, but not a rookie.

Well, I would agrue that point, especially when you mention L'Eartless. I would also argue your "hype" point. Make no mistake, PK is going to be a positive force on this team for a long time.

That's not what I heard. Komi hurt his finger putting somewhere it shouldn't go during the Burke enforced leafs weekly team shower bonding sessions. Burke says it makes them more truculent.

    Don't ask, don't tell.

How long have you been using this site? I can think of a dozen different Habs at different times who have been the brunt of "all this attention" That's what we do.

Let's see, in no particular order....Price, Halak, Eller, MAB, Kovalev, Sergei and Andre Kostitsyn, Gill, Hamrlik, Gomez, Carbonneau, Gainey, Gauthier...... have all been discussed and dissected in this forum, at one time or another, ad naseum.
