Exactly - it was the message. The odd thing is - and nobody has to believe me, there was a vibe that period, the Bruins were chasing big time and were out for blood and I told my dad something bad might happen. Sure enough, it did. That hit changed some things for me, I might be getting to romantic/dramatic about hockey, but seriously I thought he was dead for awhile. It was unreal. A few months earlier I had some family at the General treated by some of the Doc's that helped Mulder out there. It was surreal that hit and almost turned me off hockey. But Pacioretty has been a better player since, he worked so hard not to be defined by that one hit, now it's long behind him. Yeah boys, White was crucial for our team considering the time we were in

I just unfortunately came across the video of 2011 and the beatdown in Boston. Oh how far we've come. Remember the time when Pyatt, Spacek, Hamrlik, Moen were on the ice? When Chara, Thornton, Marchand, Recchi, Mcquaid were on the other side and we didn't even want to fight - but they just took liberties and started punching these over 35 yr old guys who never fight? Stuff really did get out of hand. We were a scared team back then, it really sucked. But slowly it changed. With small things, even a guy like Hall Gill who at the very least could look them in the eye to calm em down. And the league allowed these things to happen, taking these liberties and paid no attention to head shots. That's on it's way up too. I still credit one moment as perhaps the biggest moment in this turn to being on their level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxRLQd6HG-A Right there^ when White stood as the new way we would govern this team and turn it around. We would not stand to be beaten by goons, but we weren't about to stoop to their level. Slowly we got a little bigger, so we could stand toe to toe, got some fighters(we had to at the time). And then when they couldn't bully us, we started winning. Then we got faster and younger, found more of our identity and left the goons aside and sent another message, we're now a better team than you Boston. We then cemented that last year, and are the better team. If you want to beat us, beat us in hockey - and actually the league has followed suit, the top 3 teams in the east are fast skating teams. As usual Montreal setting a precedent and leading the league in the right direction

He's sick. It's so boring I switched to tva Hopefully beaulieu keeps throwing hits like them now and then, bs penalty or not
  • Comment on Canadiens vs. Blue Jackets preview: Emelin will be in lineup for Habs (2015-01-14 15:03:32)
It certainly can be anything. Although, I've never seen him not give his all. We should really be encouraging him and putting him in a position to do well. Regardless, hopefully that's the long-term plan

How can Sekac be on the 4th line?

I guess I don't understand how 2 losses makes you forget the 9-1 roll. Now we have crucial players like Emelin, dropping out? I swear we will see 0 hits tomorrow. Nobody hits these days

So break up the one line that consistently gives their all and have been sick the last couple of weeks? And I'm talking about Eller, Sekac and Prust. It's not like Plekanec has been any better. That lineup looks terrible

Meh, we couldn't keep winning. I'm happy enough. Meanwhile - maybe Eller should have been out there in the last minute. Food for thought. Ciao

You can really tell Pacioretty wants to be captain of this team. It's great, but I hope it doesn't overwhelm him
