Elliotte Friedman's 30 Thoughts (my favourite weekly hockey column) was pulled a few hours after being posted on Tuesday night (I think) ... haven't been able to find it since. The main story focused on Patrick Kane's recent shenanigans. Wondered if Friedman --- who appears to have a lot of integrity --- might have been pressured to pull/change his article. Maybe it's nothing. Thoughts? - Comment on Multimedia: MRI Friday for Gomez; Markov rehabbing in Florida for another week
Lots of talk on here (as usual) about firing JM ... ridiculous IMO. Many on here may not be crazy about the style of play under Martin, but its this style that has led to success. Overall, and in comparison to the recent past, the Habs have done very well under Martin, especially in the playoffs. And these results were generated without production from their highest paid player and the absence of their most important player. Right now there's not much going right, but firing the coach isn't the answer. - Comment on Seven sleeps till Rookie Camp
I agree with other posters who feel that the time has come to ban fighting in hockey. I've always been a fan of the excitement of fighting in hockey, but these recent incidents, not to mention some of the insights provided by enforcers and former enforcers, have swayed me. Suddenly it seems archaic and senseless. It's strange, I used to feel somewhat uneasy about my pro-knuckles stance, but I'm much more comfortable with my new position. However, if a ban on fighting was imposed, I wonder if there would have to be at least a time lag of a few years from the time such a decision was taken to the time it could realistically be put into place. After all, how else could consideration be given to the way that some teams have structured their rosters (to include players whose fighting skills are their most valuable asset). Perhaps there are some more creative solutions? - Comment on Finally, a laugher
Are rookies selected by the league?

Gillis states that "you can forget the idea that Subban’s race is playing a part" [in the criticisms towards him]. I wonder. For instance, I took a look at some of the game winning goal celebrations by Taylor Hall this year ... they are very, very similar to Subban's from the other night. Not a peep.
To make his point about race, Gillis refers to how Kane and Simmonds don't elicit the same type of reaction as does Subban. Maybe what that means is that while it's ok for a black man to play in the NHL, the truth is that its only OK if he plays the game a certain way. I might be wrong.
But I think it's wrong to so quickly dismiss the issue of race as at least one factor that is playing a role.

If it's available, could somebody give me some directions on how to sign up for online streaming through RDS? Thanks in advance.
