I posted this on the other page, but if anyone wants to drink beer and watch the Habs in Calgary. Broken City will have the sound on.

Any Habs fans in Calgary? I sometimes watch the game at Costello's. How about Wednesday for the rematch with the Leafs?

Another great article by Stubbs! 1. PJ Stock is a great example of what's keeping the NHL from moving forward. Dinosaurs spouting an archaic narrative. 2. PK puts himself out there. During the lockout he built awareness around the high cost of hockey for youth, he went on local and national TV; opening himself up to all types of criticism. The fact of the matter is that when he does this, and when he gets the TSN primates in a lather, it means taking the heat away from, I dunno, two rookies playing in a sports mad crucible. 3. PK! PK! PK!

Canes should be worried. This isn't a streak, we're building a full-head of steam. Two locomotives and they're bound to bump. Canes should be worried:
PK is holding it down
P.K. Subban. Period.
Gionta is starting a point streak.
This is a PhD type of game.
Tom Pyatt time. Wanna see him skate all over the Canes.
PS beware the ghost of Ron Francis.

Sorry for the wordiness. As per standard deviation, again I think the sample size is much too small. Also, what about the possibility of breaking up Gomez and Gionta?

As somewhat of an economist I would quite possibly chalk Gomez Gionta issue up to an issue of either multi-collinearity and/or some amount of reverse causality. Basically, on paper, the Habs are rolling two top lines; or lines 1 and 1A. Pleks, Cammy, and Andrei the Giant are firing on all cylinders and thus getting more ice-time to increase their chances and solidify their #1 line status. However, I would also argue that G&G are still being played against opposing #1 line shut-down lines. Out of the eight games, including the one against the Devils (representing over 15% of games played) this is a pretty small sample size to accurately assess the lack of offensive output from G&G. Second, having G&G on the ice not being scored on also supports the other lines when and if they face lesser opponents on the ice. That said, G&G better find a winger!

What a game!!! More important (I know, how can you top that win?) today my nephew Bram Wolf Leon was born. This means the newest member of the Habs tribe has arrived in time to see them play another (and hopefully many more) playoff games.
