Obviously a few people on here that don't understand the arbitration process. The Habs never would expect a 5.25M contract with Subban. It was a arbitration play - a low ball. What they ended up agreeing to is what he's worth. I believe the sticking point that may have taken it this far was the full NTC/NMC.

Well for starters I can't believe we're up 3-0 in this series and on the verge of a sweep in our own barn. Especially considering how tight this series was expected to pan out. I also never thought I'd see the day that the Bell Centre crowd would go into a positive tizzy anytime Rene Bourque touched the puck. What has become apparent is this ... This is a different team than we've witnessed in this town for years. Maybe even a couple of decades. There is a consistency to their play, a confidence on the ice and in the room, and a composure that is refreshing. Marc Bergevin promised change. He's brought it. Michel Therrien has lifted this team out of the funk it was in and installed a system that works for the players we have. Yes - I'm one of the people that doesn't agree with the disallowed Callahan goal, but I'm not sure it would've made any difference. This is a resilient team. Price has been spectacular in the past two games and Subban has been outstanding. 8 goal scorers on 12 series goals = depth. Great series so far. Can't wait to see where this team goes! I have to agree with pretty much EBERYTHING Boone says here. We rise to the challenges, and falter to the weak. Its been an issue for as long as I've been a Habs fan. They need to stop the slide on Saturday against the Rangers, and at least take one win into the post season. Not to mention - giving the Bell Centre fans a boost, and put pressure on the Lightning. Good point! But ya have to admit that the team really didn't show up last night, and they didn't post 12 rookies against the other teams. Visit me at www.bleedbleublancrouge.com

Well despite the tons of criticism MT has taken all year - I like this move to leave Price, Markov, and Emelin in Montreal for a rest. With Gorges being back in the line-up, and seeing how well Budaj is playing, it seems to me to be a good move. Kane and Teows being out prob helps with the decision as well. I don't know what the intensity level will be like in Chicago tonight, but the team should be bringing their all considering the home ice advantage situation with the Lightning knocking out the Laffs yesterday. I don't agree. I think he's playing like a typical star in Montreal. They get em young. They have a great season. The pressure then comes down like a tsunami wave, and then we wonder why they're having a tough time adapting. He's 24! Already won a Norris. Those are big shoes in any franchise city - but enormous in Montreal. He belongs with the Habs, fits in well, brings a spark the team needs - it just needs adjustment Visit me at www.bleedbleublancrouge.com

I agree CJ. The only time that a franchise is locked down by another franchises contract is if the players are of similar ability and have the same longevity etc etc. It was pretty clear right after the Leafs signed Phaneuf that it was a grand mistake. I think that if Bergevin can rope Therrien in a bit and they stop acting like babysitters with Subban, he will sign here for nothing more than $7M. I truly believe he want to be here in Montreal. just my 2c Visit me at www.bleedbleublancrouge.com
