Awesome! - Comment on Liveblog: Game 5 – Senators end Canadiens season
Love the video clip. The kids' in their dads' jerseys is like golfers' kids in the Masters caddy jumpsuits for the Par 3 contest. LaRue hits the nail right on the head. There is tons of latent racism underlying the reaction to PK, be it opposing teams' fans, media, etc. How many other Norris candidates get cross-checked to the head with no call? There's a certain level of respect that superstars are entitled to, and PK isn't getting it. - Comment on Liveblog: Game 5 – Senators end Canadiens season
Here's what I'd like to see -- Habs up by 3 or more goals and a whistle in the last 30 seconds so that MT can call a timeout. Think the Bell Centre will like that? - Comment on Gionta's season is over; Prust, White out for Game 5; Price listed as day-to-day
Sorry all. I hit submit too early. Kerry points out that the staffing of the situation room -- the people who make critical decisions on the interpreation of important rules -- ARE NOT TRAINED AS REFERRES!!! What a great system!! Here's Kerry's column: http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/kerry_fraser/?id=422689 - Comment on Gionta's season is over; Prust, White out for Game 5; Price listed as day-to-day
I never liked it when Kerry Fraser was the ref for Habs games. He played too much of a role in the outcome of too many games (like the one when MT got the bench minor against Carolina). But I really like his "C'Mon Ref" blog on the TSN website. Below is the link to his column today, in which he explains why Ottawa's first goal should not have been allowed. Even more amazing to me than the missed analysis is the point of the last three paragprahs -- - Comment on About last night ...
I'd like to know what it takes to make something a "distinct kicking motion." It sure looked like Zibanejad moved his foot toward the puck and then turned it after he made contact with the puck. Just like a soccer striker does when he's chipping the ball into the net. At least the refs are crap everywhere. The penalty on Sedin that led to the series clinching goal was a terrible call. There is no accountability for the officials in the league. At least in the NFL -- the best managed sports league there is -- will acknowledge officiating mistakes. Really maddening that the game turned on that sequence. - Comment on Liveblog: Senators spank Canadiens 6-1, take series lead
In 2010 we rubbed it in the Flyers' face with a late PP goal in the game we won and they gave it to us after that. Let's see if our boys get fired up over the Walrus's timeout. Gorges sure didn't like it. BTW Cherry called the Habs out in 2010. Think he will say anything about the timeout?!?!?!
