Ryder has 9pts in 7 games with the Habs. Erik Cole has 7 points on the season. People still missing that big body driving to the net? Look's like 21,11,and 51 drive to the net just fine... Our biggest need is a Gudbranson type but they don't grow on trees. But Pateryn looks solid - no panic in his game.

This seems to be a significant move in the players' direction by the NHL. Am I missing something?

For all you folks who are already going through withdrawal: Three words of advice - play the game! Ever since I finished grad school (11 years ago) I have been playing rec league hockey. Played a ton of street and shinny as a kid but never on a team. It is such a great source of camraderie, networking, and alcohol! By playing, you never lose your connection to the game. I never miss a habs game, but it is via DVR/PVR whenever I have a game or pickup session myself. The only exception is for a game seven versus the Bruins! Hopefully some of this advice to be a useful prescription for what ails you.

What do you think of this lineup? Robidas, Markov, McDonough, PK, Hainsey, O'Byrne, AK, SK, Grabovski,Ryder, Ribeiro, Koivu, Desharnais, Pacioretty, White, Pleks, Lapierre, Higgins, Price, Halak/Vokoun/Theo. Leblanc? Lats? Would we be under the cap? Would we win the cup this year? Are all of them Timmins picks? Maybe we don't need a GM? Maybe Timmins for GM? What can i say - nothing better to do on a tues night but dream...

Was just looking at the final scores for all the habs losses. It seems like our worst loss was 5-1 in Chicago in Dec? (I think Budaj was in net). This club is not that far off. Good younng core. Markov back. A functional powerplay, a shutdown d-pair, and a big center should make a huge difference. I have no problem with Roy as coach - we need someone with fire behind the bench. Experience with young players doesn't hurt. Is Grigarenko a center? I also think it will reverse the corey-houle-tremblay jinx. Maybe Mike Keane should be assistant coach to seal the deal? Voodoo dolls for Thibeault, Rucinsky, and Kovalenko as insurance?

I had more than a few beers before and during the game. Bass drafts at Elephant and Castle pre-game and buds while at the game. That should justify a mulligan on the Phaneuf comment. Cut Phaneuf and paste Regehr/Kronwall.

On the Habs - Bourque, by a country mile. Gainey's brilliant post lockout theory of skill and speed over everything else is bogus. Size matters.

All: Was at the game tonight. Man, was it painful. It was a long way from game seven with Halak's heroics. Wanted to share my observations. This is a very bad club. There is just no fear in playing the habs. No one has to worry about playing nos glorieux. Every time the Caps dumped the puck in, the habs had a tough time getting it out. Every time the habs dumped it in, the Caps had no problem engineering a breakout. The hockey IQ on the Habs is extremely low. I blame this on coaching and scouting. There is no cohesiveness or chemistry on this club. Carey Price is a stud. His talent is unquestionable. But the biggest problem =on this club is lack of toughness on the blue line. Kaberle, Campoli and Webber are piss poor excuses for NHL blueliners. How many times has a goal been scored this year off a deflection or a screen becausse the d can't clear the front of the net. Carey has to deal with more traffic than any other tender in the league. PK Subban is a wondrous skater, but his Hockey IQ is abhorrent. For this reason he should be a career second pairing defenseman. I have never seen a man go for a hit as many times as PK and completely miss. He also has no idea of when to shoot and when to pass. Such a shame. Two cent brain and million dollar legs. Alexei Emelin is the best D we have (Markov not withstanding). But we need a Brad Stuart, Johnny Boychuk, and yes, Dion Phaneuf style D on the second pairing as well. Josh Gorges is a beautiful human being and a character guy, but too much is being asked of yet another undersized defensman. You can't really blame these guys. They are undersized and poorly coached. We need the best coach out there next year (Carlyle), language be damned, and we need to get tougher on and bigger on the back end. Bourque, Eller, Cole, Patches, Kostitsyn , Gionta, White, Pleks, Geoffrion, Davey, Leblanc, and Palushaj are sufficient up front. Emelin, MArkov, Subban, ????? (Suter) Georges, ???? (Webber) Carey Price is obviously one of the most talented goalies in the league. He just needs a couple of years to develop the mental toughness to bring this team a cup. It will happen. I am fully on board with the fail for nail express at this time. If we can get something for Campoli, Kaberle, Moen, Weber, and Diaz, well, let's make a deal!

Yeah, all Eastern conference forwards will miss him dearly.
