Ben, who are you really honed in on for our first round pick??? Rychel and Hartman seem like really good, safe picks. I realize they're not the huge wingers some think we need, but decent size and tons of versatility & overall potential. Will they still be available at ~#25 pick??? - Comment on Subban skates with Team Canada in Sweden
I can definitely see Subban, Emelin, Beaulieu and Tinordi on this club in that time frame, but Didier and Bennett are both long shots to make the NHL. I would also be surprised if Gorges were still here in 4 years, there's just too many good defensemen coming up through the pipeline that will be better than him; bigger, faster, younger, cheaper. Ellis and Dietz both have a better chance at making the NHL and I think the bottom pairing will feature a defenseman acquired through trade (veteran Defensive D-Man). - Comment on Tinordi in lineup, Weber out for Jets game
I'm not saying Markov has been horrible, but he hasn't been great. What do you expect? The guy has missed a lot of time, suffered some bad injuries and is getting up there in age. So, why not sit him these last few games? Let him rest and avoid potential injury. Hopefully he'll look refreshed like he did at the start of the season. Gorges-Diaz Beaulieu-Subban Tinordi-Bouillon Hell, this is probably our top six in about 2 years anyway (minus Bouillon, plus Emelin) so let's see if these kids can play! - Comment on Plekanec's status will be a game-time decision
Apologies if this has already been posted. Highlights from last night's Hamilton vs San Antonio game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZD6GQDjhB8 - Comment on 'Funnest' game ever for Habs' Gallagher
Is Chris Stewart on the trading block? His contract is expiring but he's only an RFA. Didn't someone mention we were possibly scouting him? Seems like the type of forward we need, and could be part of the team moving forward. (which makes me skeptical that St. Louis would want to trade him) What would it take? I'm guessing a decent roster player (Gionta, Bourque) and top-tier prospect (Beaulieu, Tinordi) for Stewart and a mid-tier prospect or 2nd/3rd round pick. Not sure if I would do it but on paper he looks like a player that would fit well. - Comment on Pacioretty escapes suspension over McDonagh hit
I, for one, really hope Kristo signs here. I've watched him play quite a bit at UND and he's consistently the best player on the ice. His skill level is very high and he plays with some grit despite not being overly big (5'11" 185lbs). Great skating, handles, and finish. Best prospect we have that hasn't put on a Habs sweater yet. - Comment on Pacioretty escapes suspension over McDonagh hit
Being that we likely won't get a chance to pick in the top 10, who are you looking at for a late first round pick? Where is Tony Duclair expected to go?
