  If not for Luongo's cap hit of 5.3mil until 2022, a deal for Price does make some sense (their actual salary is almost identical for the next five seasons). I would even tinker it a little: Luongo, Burrows & a 2nd-round pick for Price & Desharnais. I also think if the Bruins lose Game 7 tonight, they might consider shuffling the deck and trade Lucic home to Vancouver for Ryan Kesler.

  I voted for Markov as 1st-half MVP. Even though he has labored in some games, I feel his presence alone makes the players around him better. All those key goals he contributed at the beginning of the season also gave the team momentum out of the gate.

  Everyone assumes Kaberle's contract ($4.25mil) will be the one bought out at the end of this season, but, assuming Boullion and Weber are not retained, Bergevin may opt to keep the Czech D-man and jettison Gionta and his remaining $5 million.

  Bourque gets benched even though Gionta made the useless rush that led to the tying goal.

  I see Gionta still working hard and getting his chances every game but the problem is he can no longer finish like a goal scorer. Desharnais just doesn't do anything particularly well to be cast as a top-two center.
