What you're suggesting makes a lot of sense. One obvious scenario is to have him center Prust & Weise. I'm sure the demotion from the top line has to hurt even more than the physical pounding he is receiving every game.

With two extra bodies (Weaver & Thomas), why not rest a player or two on the second leg of a back-to-back? If Therrien is committed to giving Price the occasional rest, why not also the vets like Markov or Gonchar as well? Right now, Pacioretty is carrying the offense. Plekanec is a good soldier, but he is simply miscast in the role as the #1 center. A lack of finish and physical strength will doom him in the long run, as it has Galchenyuk and Desharnais before him. Eller is the team's strongest centerman and he showed that again tonight with his ability to win puck battles and create chances in the offensive zone. Is Therrien not willing to spin the wheel with him on the top line?

I thought Eller's line w/Sekac & Prust was the only trio that managed any sustained push in the offensive zone. I'm not sure about Plekanec's line w/Parenteau & Desharnais over the long haul; they were chasing and losing battles line all night.

Sekac better brace himself for more 'tough love' from Therrien, much like what Subban went through two years ago. (i.e. Don't believe your own press clippings.)

Glad to see Plekanec finally put one in. He and Parenteau in particular have had many good scoring chances of late and not burying them.

Re: Bergevin. I would also give props to the astute assistants on his management team, guys like Rick Dudley, Scott Mellanby & Larry Carriere who do a lot of the leg work in advance scouting and player/trade evaluation.

Sportsnet brass should remind John Garrett to tone down his hometown cheer-leading and whining when it's a nationally televised contest between two Canadian teams. You don't hear Jason York gushing about the Habs every time he speaks.

I'm beginning to think the only way Sekac & Bournival will see ice again is through an injury, or if Bourque gets traded. Moen is probably a fixture in the lineup now because of his role on the PK.

Will Therrien ever learn to give some of his veterans a night off on back-to-back games? He rode Markov for 30+ minutes of TOI tonight. You have depth on the team. Use it, please.

Wish the guys had shot more in the first period when they had quite a few quality chances but opted to make the perfect pass (especially Pacioretty.)
