no. not carbonneau. he's the coach who lost to toronto, didn't pull his goalie, cost us the playoffs and said he wouldn't change a thing he did in that game. carbonneau is such a good coach that he can't even get interviewed anywhere else. he almost got the under-18 team relegated. let's not recycle fired canadien coaches. let's move on.

murray and bouillion should never ever, never never never play together. in fact, they should never be in the lineup at the same time. #freepatyren

pretty hard for any of the Therrien supporters (are there any left?) to explain the reasoning behind his latest moves. I think that MT is one of the main reasons why this team is struggling. Wrong system, rolling his lines like a peewee houseleague coach, under utilizing PK at 5 on 5 and PP minutes, over using guys like bouillion on pp (georges on PP, really?)and his chronic underused of galchenyuk. Whether or not someone likes briere, he never got a fair shake in montreal. Jagr was quoted as saying yesterday that he needs to play 18-19 minutes a game to be effective. briere has averaged around 10 minutes, i don't care who the player is, with such little ice it is difficult to get going. while i'm ranting, throwing moen on the wing with pleks and gionta after a one goal lead is idiotic. This is the extent of MT's in game coaching adjustments (aside from throwing the lines in a blender).

nice road win. Game ended up being closer than it should have been. I still don't like that moen was moved into briere's spot. to me, that indicated a defensive mindset that took over after a 3-0 lead. i don't understand why a team would move away from what is working in order to play a prevent defence.

coaching dictates a lot when it comes to offence. This team's style has changed since last year. First of all, MT's bench management is terrible. DD getting any PP time is idiotic until he actually starts to show that he can either score or set someone else up. When DD starts a PP he is paired up with Subban and Markov, effectively wasting our top point producers. That leaves the EGG line with bouillon and diaz, which effectively wastes our top point producing forwards. It makes no sense. This team used to be aggressive on the forecheck. We also used to be a quick transition team. For some reason this year, MT has them collapsing in our end to block every shot attempt. The problem with this is that when we manage to get the puck in our end, there is no more positioning at all. This makes it nearly impossible to breakout as a unit, hence no more fast transitions. Finally, when your top goal scorer only plays 11 minutes, you are coaching for a low scoring game to begin with. Eller played 16 minutes and galchenyuk only 14 minutes. bench management.
