it wouldn't hurt to try it. As an added bonus, you may get another 2 to 3 minutes a game where Gorges can play 5 on 5 or on the penalty kill. "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB

Not really a dump when you get a 35 goal scorer last year. If Cole doesnt pick it up this year, who would have taken him in the summer?? No one. This is a good trade, with the hope that Bourque is back soon. Bourque and patches can blast down the wing and ryder will put a few gally passes upstairs i would say. I can't see how that will help. People still jump guys after clean hits now. All removing the instigator rule will do is create more of this nonsense. If a guy really gives a dirty hit, the instigator rule hardly ever acts as a deterrent anyway. I know the catch phrase is to let the players "police themselves" Fine, but do you really want to see guys like Lucic, Shawn Thornton, Chris Neil and Scottie Hartnell wearing cop uniforms with no repercussions to keep them in line?? To say that the instigator rule increases stick work and dirty hits is to basically deny the facts. "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB

That hit is MacDonagh's own fault. He saw Patches coming and turned away from the play. It isn't even close to as bad as what Schenn did to Gallagher. Patches didn't even really take a bunch of strides and charge in. Shanahan and that office are so inconsistent it is ridiculous. I have always said that there should be a committee of former players, coaches and REFEREES that decide suspensions by consensus. Campbell was terrible because he played favorites. Shanahan is just terrible because he doesn't know what the hell he is doing! "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB

no it isn't. Any mercury in any vaccine is less than half a can of tuna. It is also a less active form compared to said half can of tuna. You have a right to believe what you want, but you can't fire out half truths and conspiracy theories and expect people to take you seriously. "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB
  • Comment on Carey Price sidelined with stomach flu (2013-02-16 10:57:58)
it doesn't give you the flu, just maybe a little runny nose for a day or two. Its an impossibility, considering the shot doesn't contain any live flu virus. Also, people who say flu in hockey usually mean the stomach flu, or gastroenteritis. The poops and pukes essentially. True influenza type A would have Price out for at least a week or two "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB

I am all for the team trying to control PK a little bit. Getting him to buy into the team concept etc. etc. etc.. BUT, it is starting to get almost disrespectful now, with no low 5s, Therrien basically saying that it isn't as easy as just putting someone into the line-up. (ahh-hmmm Weber??) Now they have a 7th defenseman dressed?? They are starting to act like it is a privilege for PK to be even allowed to come back and play. Need the brass be reminded that if the habs have any hope of making the play-offs, they need PK. They need him a lot. Let him play, and start saying publicly that he will be a huge part of this team going forward. Stop all the, tow the line or else sh*t for a change!!! "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB

Hey pal. Relax will you. What did you think Bergevin would do? Turn it around all in one summer. I suppose you thought he should have signed Webber, Nash and traded for Ryan and Chara too. This is going to be a process for the Habs to get back to being maybe in the play-offs and a cup contender. They have a shot this year of being in the play-offs but it will be in 2 to 3 years when Bergevins work will truly be judged. He did surround himself with good hockey guys, got a little tougher, but kept the good young nucleus of the habs together. Any dratic moves that you think he should have made would have crippled our future. going slow is the right, smart approach. We got off to a good start this off-season for a complete culture change. Give it time, cause it will take some to get us back up to where we should be!! "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB
  • Comment on Nash to the Rangers (2012-07-23 19:16:35)
Ideally, I'm sure Howson would have loved that, but Nash as been overrated throughout this process. It's like when Sundin was a free agent at the end of his career. People actually starte to believe he was more than a 70 to 75 point guy. Nash will go hard to the net and get a few highlight reel goals a year, but he is a loser who will turn into an overpaid under-achiever. I believe patches even had more points then him last year. Maybe that won't be a normal occurence but I can see max get at least the same number of points. Will Nash rebound?? who knows "I'll take potent potables for 500, Alex" JB
