Good to see Gally27 playing with some intensity...had slacked off over the last few games. If he could bring Gallaghers intensity and focus to his game he would be unbelievable.

Stevie.Ray....you are the man! That was one incredible post. Thank you for giving me the perspective on MaClean that I completely overlooked in my rush to toss Cherry and the rest of the leafblowers out onto Young street. Much appreciated my friend.

The poll re: Don Cherry... I think both Don Cherry and his sad sack co-host Ron MaClean are past their due date and belong to a by gone era when rock 'em sock 'em, helmets were optional, visors didn't exist and every team had the requisite number ofgoons to take part in the eventual bench clearing line brawls. That erawith its "code" is gone and thank God. Todays NHL certainly isn't perfect and likely never will be. But it is a work in progress. Trying to make the game faster and skill based where finese players can doodle and dipsy is a good thing. A game where your best players are exciting to watch for the moves and plays they make and not for how often they drop the gloves and fight is what the upcoming generation wants to see. Don Cherry just doesn't get that. Most nights he is ranting or showcasing a bottom six forward or a botton 2 defenseman likening the player yo his once and great AHL playing days. Personally to me he is a most embarrassing spokes person for his brand of hockey...it is clear to most yhst he is sn embarrassment to the league with is anti change babbling on CBC. My hope is that with the Rogers TV deal that they finally cut this guy loose and inject some new blood to fill the space where his horrendous suits once sat. Thats my take on the poll at least.

So if MB does get us a goal scorer for a Christmas present...and lets consider the names Mr. Boone submitted for consideration. ..Evander Kane or Nail Yakopov... Realistically the Habs will need to put a strong package together to get either of these two players or any other top 6 scorer. So the question becomes who and what assets does MB put in a realistic package for a top flight scorer. We would need to give up some quality talent and prospects for a quality return. I'm thinkinng MB might include some of the following but it really depends on if it is a deadline deal or if it comes before Christmas. On D names like...Gorges, Diaz, Markov, Bealieu... come to mind. On Forward names like...Bourque, Gionta, Bournival, White, Collberg, Gallagher. Now don't attack me ...I'm not saying any of the above should be dealt but in order to make a deal attractive to another GM we will need to offer some attractive assets and maybe a couple draft picks...really depends on the needs of the other team...their cap situation, whether they're making a playoff run or how badly they want to get rid of a player and or what position they need to strengthen. But either way to get a quality top 6 scorer for Christmas will cost MB quiet a bit in return. So what would we be willing to give up for a 40+ goal scorer??

Thanks Burli...the update about being loaned helps me out and makes sense if it gives Nygren a better shot at team Sweden and he gets a better shot with the Habs next season

Nystrom was released from his Try out contract by MB yeaterday...then went to KHL.

I hope you're right Habilis. Maybe in an Olympic year he feels his chances of being noticed for a shot at team Sweden would be better back home. Even if he's behind Tinordi, Beaulieu and Pateryn, he is still a skilled asset that has trade value if he isn't going to play on the big team...but my hope is we see him as a potential upgrade on Diaz.

The post claims that when Nygren came over he was assured he would get a look in the NHL. More likely as he is a top 4 D-man in Hamilton that he's pissed caused they keep playing lead foot and he doesn't see a shot coming up for himself to show what he has.

Just heard that Magnus Nygren (D) has left the 'Dogs and is headed back to Sweden as per Eyesontheprize. That sounds about right...keep playing Murray, a guy that skates like his skates are on the wrong feet and let a promising prospect walk. Now that's called managing your assets...way to go MB.

The nice thing about HNIC is since they're suck leaf blowin' douces, and so Toronto centric that out west we have the Leafs game no matter if they play at home or away. ..so I get to watch the games on RDS...love it...high def signal and never have to listen to Cherry, MaClean or Stock or any of the other HNIC chumps. And not understanding French I don't have to listen to Stock on RDS either. Just good ol' hockey... Ole, ole, ole! Good feeling about tonights game...someone will win for sure...take that to the bank amigos. Go Habs Go!
