- Comment on About last night … (2014-03-09 16:17:44)
For a brief moment late in the 3rd last night I saw some hope when Vanek was on with DD and Max...Vanek suddenly looked engaged and had active feet... I also some excitement from Gally, Chuckie and Eller would put back together as the Kid line... With any luck MT will understand that Vanek needs to play with a playmaking Centre not a primarily defensive minded Centre. ..and the the youth and energy and exuberance of the Kid line will reenergize the flagging offense on this team.

So with the Vanek trade Garth Snow basically gets a 1st snd 2nd rounder... essentially Collberg in his draft year was rated mid 1st round so he was a steal when he dropped to 33rd high 2nd...and the 2nd we give up....well who knows who that will be...but its going to be a late pick. Collberg is going to be a good player in a few years and I don’t think he's been producing much in the SHL against men.I guess we'll see but I hope Vanek works out and gets resigned with us.

Well done M. Bergevin. ..I completely take bavk what I said about you yesterday...re: not having the cajones/stones or guts yo make a big move to address the teams glaring weakess (secondary scoring) Not concerned about giving up Collberg...he's got great skill and potential but is on the small side. So now lets see if MB can resign Vanek...and if Gionta walks he would be a good fit on Plecs wing with Chuckie on the other side.

Common MB...just move Bourque for a pick...DO IT!
- Comment on Habs hit the road on a hot streak; Drewiske clears waivers (2014-03-03 16:06:26)
Reasons why M. Bergevin will not make a club improving deal at this deadline: a) he's happy with the progress his team s making b) Habs are 2nd in Division and 3rd in Conference c) Won't trade picks for proven talent..."build thru draft mantra" d) Habs currently have no one outside of 5-6 core players anyone is interested...Bourgue, Briere, Boullion...seriously? e) He just doesn't have the stones/cajones/guts or vision to make the gutzy hockey trade needed to address some obvious weak areas of the team...such as secondary scoring. f) Believes he'll get Markov and Gionta signed in the off season for the home town discount because "why would they want to play anywhere else"... My thinking is he won't make the big club improving hockey trade is for all of the reasons above. So won't be holding my breath waiting for the earth shattering news to break.
- Comment on Subban’s role with Team Canada remains a mystery (2014-02-11 15:15:36)
This is a very big tournament in Subbans career. He has earned the chance to play on the world stage with the best players in the game right now. His performance at these games will go along way to establishing him as truely elite now or still developing into his game. I think hus contract negotiations will also be affected by his pkay and role at Sochi. If he shows he is responsible enough yo be top 6, then I think he's looking at top $'s. If he plays irresponsibly and loosey goosey like he did at time the past couple of weeks, then he'll not play top 6 and will likely be sctached in the important games thus negatively impacting his contract status and $'s. My hope is that the Norris Trophy Subban shows up and aplues every bit of his talent, maturity and strength to these games thus forcing the coaching staff to use him in top 4 mimutes thoughout the tournament. As a short do-or-die tournament there is no room for mistakes or any hint of irresponsible play. Go PK, Go Carey, Go Canada!

Not really...he was always in the crease messin with the goalie and d-man. :-) Actually he does have good speed and gets into the corners and fights for pucks along the boards...but what I liked was his desire to drive to the net and cause screens and annoy the goalie...not like Gally does it but a lot better tban the rest of the forwards. It's good to have at least one more player go to the net.

Agreed...and we get younger right away sans Moen...he just hasn't been the same since his last concussion.
