It appears that the choice of UFAs is slim. If we make an assumption (yes, an assumption) that we will be in the playoffs come Trade Deadline, who are some UFAs NEXT year on teams that may be looking to unload? Are there good candidates that should be available then? Now more than ever, we need the Jedi.

it has been stated that the Habs have to overpay signing players due to taxes. does someone have a ballpark of how much this is? Using the Halak signing, if he got $15/4 years, what is the comparable Montreal rate? $16, 17mill over 4 years?
