- Comment on Therrien shuffles lines; Budaj will face Sabres with new contract (2013-04-10 15:52:39)
Not trying to start a Price bashing session as I am a big supporter and was thrilled when we dealt Halak but I would like to bring up a comparison with one of his Vezina competitor. Sergei Bobrovsky (will be the leading contender if Columbus makes the playoffs) 29 GS 14 W 10 L 6 OTL GAA: 2.05 SP: .930 Columbus has a GD of -9 as a team and have sored a total of 95 goals this year. In comparison Price has 32 GS 19 W 8 L 4 OTL GAA: 2.28 SP: .915 Habs have a GD of +28 and have ascored a total of 122 goals this year. When comparing these stats, would it be reasonable to expect that Carey should be somewhat closer to Bobrovsky in GAA and SP considering that Columbus is an inferior team to Montreal in pretty much all categories? Why does Bobrovsky consistently have a higher SP and GAA to Price? Is it fair to expect that Price should perhaps be in the top 5 or 10 in both GAA and SP considering the team he plays for, his talent level and perhaps unfairly, his salary? Price does have quite the goaltending pedigree going for him but I still do not trust him as a clutch performer yet and I truly hope that he proves all his doubters wrong with a strong performance in the upcoming playoffs.
- Comment on Sunday a day of rest for Habs; Beaulieu recalled from Bulldogs (2013-04-07 17:33:18)
I think they went with Beaulieu because Diaz is not coming back until later in the month and Drewiske = Tinordi in playing style so he is redundant in the short term. Beaulieu has that offensive skillset for the PP that Tinordi does not bring to the table. They will both be pillars on the Habs back end for the next decade at least. Can't wait to see Beaulieu and Tinordi both put on another 10+ pounds of muscle in the off season a la Subban/Eller.

I worked for FedEx in Dubai from 93 to 98 and had a great time. My parents used to send me the hockey news and La Presse and Journal de Montreal twice a month to keep my hockey fix going. The internet in those days was not what it is today that's for sure. Isn't this a great time to be a Habs fan? No 3 in the league and a boatload of decent prospects and 6 picks in the top 90 in the upcoming draft which is considered a deep one. In MB we trust.

No 4 of course.

Good read from Elliotte Friedman. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/opin...questions.html If they do go ahead with decertification I guess E Cole will still spin the protect the future generations mantra. NHLPA= greed and hypocrisy.

Commandant, I've been reading your posts thoughout this lockout and I can't help but feel that you are acting as an NHLPA shill. Hope I'm wrong.
- Comment on HIO at practice (2012-01-30 15:26:03)
I believe that in early January Mr. Gauthier said the following about Mr. Markov: "He is doing well and his rehab is progressing. I wouldn't expect him to play before the All-Star break. His procedure in December was just an arthroscopic surgery to clean up debris from a previous surgery and remove some scar tissue." We have not heard or seen that Markov is even skating and still no feedback from management. That is unnaceptable and bush league. Where is the accountability to the paying public. Just come out with it already if his season is toast or if he's suffered another setback.

Need Liverpool to teach ManUre a lesson tomorrow morning. Outside of my beloved Habs, Liverpool Football Club is the next best thing. Liverpool and ManUre in the FA Cup is almost as big as the Habs and the Bruins in the playoffs game 7. True passion and tension all at once. Liverpool have fallen off in recent decades but they still have one of the largest fan base in the world. Just like the Habs they still carry that mystique and both cities and fanbases are yearning for a return to the glory days. In spite of the poor home form this year at Anfield, I still trust Kenny Dalglish to get it right and set the way to new glories. Maybe we need Lemaire and Robinson to come back and set the ship right. Don't ge me wrong, Cunneyworth looks like a good coach and if he can get us in the playoffs than he will deserve a contract extrension to be sure. YNWA Go Habs Go
- Comment on Habs lose 6-2: Hickey’s game story (2010-09-26 09:23:11)
Long time reader, first time posting.
While I'll admit that it's only pre-season and tell myself that I should not be concerned about Carey Price, I AM NOW VERY CONCERNED.
After the chill out out comments from a few days ago we now get this after yesterday's game:
“It would have been nice to make some of those saves but I’m not going to lose any sleep.”
I guess if I was making 2.75 million and had a guaranteed job, I too would also not be worried about my performance at work.
It would not bother me at all if Price allowed 10 goals in 1 1/2 games as long as he battled for every shot, showed passion rather than nonchalance.
I think Price needs to wake up and smell the coffee, Preseason is important to set some goods habits early and believe me that winning can be contagious.
I am not a so called Price hater or Halak fanboy but I am now extremely concerned about Price being our no 1 keeper this year and before you all remind me that it's only preseason, Price's play has indeed been poor for over 18 months now.
Hoping to be proven wrong by Carey but I've got a bad feeling about this one.
