C A R E Y P R I C E I S N O T A N E L I T E G O A L I E 1) Many thanks to Mr. Boone for the many ALN articles. They were always entertaining must-reads and delivered right after the game. Will be missing this for months. 2) How can anyone say Price is an elite goalie after this season ? Pick a year from his 6 yr NHL career. Playing behind a legit Norris candidate, Emelin (thru 38) and Markov, his numbers were at the bottom of the league. His team consistently outshot the opposition. In these playoffs, his numbers were .894 and 3.26. The guy on the other end was elite. Carey Price played well in 1.5/4 games, the kind of thing you'd expect of an average goalie. If people like him, that's fine. There's no argument there. But calling him elite at this point is a joke. This is not a knock on his ability or his potential, but a sobering look at what he's delivered on paper.

Tonight was arguably the most important game of Price's career in a Habs jersey. I've never been a fan, but he showed a lot of fight, a lot of balls tonight. It's going to take many performances like this to hoist the Cup -- let's hope Carey can keep it up for a few more! GO HABS GO!
