    The point is not to replace Gomez's 7 goal production, but to replace Gomez's designated role as a 1st / 2nd line centre. When looking for that replacement - it is much more difficult to find a such a player. As mentioned above, almost any centre can score 7 goals - but for his EXPECTED role on the team (and salary) he is not producing to that level. I haven't checked, but are there any centres available that would fit his expected role?

    Long time reader, infrequent poster. Gomez won`t be traded and I agree with some that there isn`t much out there to fill his assigned role of number 1 or 2 centre. I predict a big season from him, cause like most people out there no one likes to be consistently crap at their job. So I`m sure as seen in human nature he will bounce back and excel. The season after that may be another story. Also even though he added little last season, he was one of the guys to get in Chara`s face/torso when Patches was hit. Also I am also on the pro-Jagr or Fleishmann (I think he may be available) bandwagon to play with Pleks and Cammy.

    Obviously a huge game for Price - but he will need full support in front of him.  Gill/Gorges will need to be on their game - and forwards cannot take the Laffs lightly.

    The Laffs will be looking to throw Price off his game asap.  We need our 3rd/4th lines to respond to intimidation and our 1st/2nd lines to kill their momentum.

    Habs will win tonight - if they play as a team.

    Agree with the comments on Halpern being a hybrid Moore/Metro - but after looking at the clip I would throw in a little MAB too.  The guy likes to take the slapshot - so I would not be surprised to see him at the point on the PP.  Especially if Mr. Markov is out at the start of the season.

    Halpern = Moore/Metro/MAB = Face-off Man/PP/PK/Shut Down Guy = $600K.  Very good sign by PG.
