  The reason you keep Markov is because you believe there is no one to play pp with PK and the second pp unit would be even worse than last year)...Without a top pp in the regular season the Habs odds are slim at making the playoffs...But you also have to consider that after 82 games would Markov have anything left for the playoffs and is he even able to contribute when the style of play changes in the playoffs...Habs management has tough decisions..do they believe this core can do anything in the playoffs or is it better to strip the team of most core veterans and build for the future...but even if that is the answer they may not do it as they probably want to have some form of a competitive team on ice...

  Does not look like the Habs will get any scorers thru ufa...maybe a trade...looks like goal scoring will be relied on from the current forwards improving their stats or maintaining them...hopefully one or two from the farm system pan out....

  After watching the playoffs with the way the game is called and the physical play does anyone believe that the starting 6 d the Habs had in the playoffs has any chance at playoff success?...

  Getting Galchenyuk was huge last year...While the Habs have a lot of prospects and will have a few picks in the draft they will still have to make smart trades and smart ufa signings in the next couple of years...unless you are very lucky to get a player like Galchenyuk you have to draft high...While the Habs have prospects and will get new ones in a few weeks the reality is most teams have the same number and type of prospects as the Habs have...and some teams will add even better ones this year as they are drafting higher...
