Saw on TSN that Leblanc is up playing on the 2nd line with Pleks and Bourque. Anyone know if that's the case? If so I like to see us using the remaining games to give the young guys who will be the future the ice-time. Was glad to see Geoffrion called up but was rattled that Leblanc was the guy to go down. Having both up playing, getting ready to be major contributors is key

Anyone who has said DD is slow(not sure what they were smoking to begin with) but that goal right there shows his speed and skill... what a beauty!! He will turn into a 70 point guy.

True that there is a couple more years on Bourque's deal but on a year by year cap basis we save almost three million( who knows if Bourgue is even around come year 3 of the deal) Also true the Gill and AK were prob off the books anyway, but if we look at it that way then we just got Geoffrion, Slaney and two 2nd rd picks for free (bad thing?). On top of that, for taking on the two more years of Bourque's contract versus Cammy we get another 2nd rd pick vs a 5th and another good young prospect... I say this all falls into rebuilding. Totally agree that taking on Kaberle's 4+ mill was retarded and also agree that I'd let my 90 year grandmother run the Habs before PG. Still for a team that has made as bad a moves over the years as we have... a little more positive no?

MTL moves: Gill, Cammy, AK and a 5th rd pick(Cal) Get back: Bourgue, Holland(top-10 in WHL scoring), Geoffrion(solid prospect), Slaney, 2nd rd pick this year, two 2nd rd picks next year. almost 8 million off the books

Just say the Habs could pull off a trade something like this Pleks, AK and Weber etc for Getzlaf. Next season Bourque-Getzlaf-Gionta Cole-DD-PAX LL-Eller-Gallager Blunden-White-Moen Gomez is bought out, sent to minors, traded, whatever needs to be done to stop MTL from being the laughing stock of the league for still playing him. Either way, a real nice lineup there with a nice mix of size and skill, youth and experience. Has a true number one center with the roster space to let our good young players like DD, Pax, Eller, LL and gallager get offensive minutes. Just think, one trade somewhere along the lines of what I mentioned and removing Gomez and there it is.. not all that far fetched

It doesn't matter what Subban does, just trade him and Price cause all the matters is that we still have this guy. As long as we are double-shifting him and giving him his well deserved PP time, then this organization is in a good place! http://www.celebrations-gomez.com/en/ :)

Kabby has not been a 'Top' d-man in some time. He will also only be effective if he is playing top PP minutes as that's where he made his mark when he was good with the Leafs. If Markov does come back then Kabby is there for what? His physical defensive play? No chance!! That would mean we now have 10 million tied up in aging D-men if Markov were to return. It's just patchwork at it's best here, but then again... it's been that way for 20 years now so I don't know why we are soo surprised. It will never be about moving forward for Mtl again... Just trying to stay afloat...
