  My opinion? You don't rest anyone! You rest between Saturday night and Tuesday night. These are professional athletes and their bodies are not like yours or mine.   I think he meant attitude when letting in a bad goal. If Roy let in a bad goal, he remained unfazed by it and continue to play steller hockey for the remainder of the game. When Price lets in a bad one, it affects him more. You see it in his body language. He almost gives up and will let in another bad goal or two.
