- Comment on Canadiens send Beaulieu and Bournival down to Hamilton (2014-10-22 12:08:33)
Pacioretty/Desharnais keep being called our first line, and perhaps that's true. Galchenyuk and Plekanek have been the offensive leaders thus far. Maybe we have two first lines. I know plus minus is a faulty stat, but with such great plus minuses for Pacioretty (+7), Desharnais (+6), Markov (+6), Plekanek (+4), Galchenyuk (+4), and Gallagher (+4). Our top lines are putting a goal or close to it more a night than their opponents. In the Tampa blow out, our third and fourth lines were pounded. The two top lines were still even or plus. There were so many years we were playing such crap AHL guys regularly on the Big Club. Louis Leblanc played 42 games for the Habs in 2011-12, and another 8 the next year. Dep is a luxury, too much complaining about having 5 centres and Whether Weise, Moen, Bournival, Sekac plays. This is a great thing to have. Fresh bangers ... At this point we have no holes. The only players we would trade for would be a stud like the Vanek trade last year. Our cupboards are full for goodness sake at every position. This is so huge. We don't have to trade a 2nd rounder for a player to sure up a weakness. 2nd round picks can turn into superstars. Deep breaths ...

Wait we are criticizing Pacioretty. C'mon ladies and gentlemen it's only been two days since we had a game. Geez let's not devour our own selves here.

They won't be 82-0 Ian :) We have the most depth and skill we have had in decades. So much youth, it's going to be a great decade to come.

Wow, I am surprised by the negativity today. Is it the cold weather. Bourque seems to be the whipping boy du jour. Moen, Eller, a touch of Sekac. Complaints about PK's ice time. Really it was one game he got less ice time, and I think his penalty minutes altered the defensive flow of minutes. Our team is 5-1, already having completed a long road trip. It's okay to be happy. This team is young, and doing amazingly well. It responds well to adversity, very clutch so far, and we aren't even firing on all cylinders yet. That's okay. The best teams tune themselves up for the playoffs. It's good to have 5 centres, 7 d, 2 extra forwards. Dep is good! Smile it's a good day!
- Comment on Habs will have plenty to work on at practice (2014-10-15 07:03:51)
Good news -We have a young team with a lot to work on. -We have 6 pts in a crappy 4 game road trip sandwich to start the season (Tampa game was actually supposed to be much later in the season) -Our cap is in pretty good shape with Gorges, Gionta, Budaj out Tokarski, Pacioretty, Markov, Plekanek are bargains. -We can only get better performances out of Price, Pacioretty, Subban (who is trying too hard, he'll figure it out) -I think it's better to have the puck than not. Seems like blocking shots is an over-rated stat. We havethe looks of a team that will control the puck much more. -Galchenuyk looks ready to be a stud, and Plekanek seems super excited to go for the ride -Tinordi and Bealieu are going to get really good really fast Fun discussion - who are the fattest NHL players in the league? Why don't they get a trainer and a dietician/chef? Thought of the this seeing Kessel eating cheap nachos. Let me get the ball started: 1. Byfuglien 2. Kessel ...

Geez Plekanek is so excited. It's like when you give an older dog a puppy and it rejuvenates them. Galchenyuk is bringing like to Plekanek back.
- Comment on Habs’ Emelin sidelined with upper-body injury (2014-10-11 14:40:47)
You would think having Malhotra in practice to battle on faceoofs against Desharnais, Eller, and Galchenyuk would be invaluable for the next decade to come. That alone seems to me to be worth the value of his salary. When we need it Galchenyuk will win a big big big faceoff in a stanley cup final because he had to learn against Malhotra everyday.

seems like Tinordi's muscle will be required more than that to spell Prust as well n'est-ce pas?
