Saw the interview with PK live and almost pissed myself laughing so hard. I think even the interviewer had trouble not laughing at how hard PK was trying to not be himself. - Comment on P.K.!
Mike,
Wanted to ask about your comment on Red Fisher covering his 6000th game. That is a remarkable number but I can't figure it out... Help me out - 51 seasons at 80 regular season games (average because it was less than 84 for a long time) and 5 pre-seaon games (did they have them 40 years ago?) and 15 post season game (guessing here because some years they didn't play any while others they played 20+). So 51x(80+5+15) = 5100. Amazing to think of 6000 games, can't imagine anyone else ever coming close to that.
I have read every word you've written since the inception of HIO as well as most of Red's columns for the past 20 years. You do an excellent job and provide a nice complement and viewpoint to the games please keep up the great posts.
Cheers,
Peter

It is really disheartening to see a team with so much talent put in so little effort. In the past when there was a lack of effort it was frustrating as a fan but not as much because the talent level and expectations were lower. I wonder how much the pending UFA status of so many players on the team is creating a problem. You would think this to be counter-intuitive since they should want to play hard for the best results but the best team results aren't always "in line" with the best individual results. - Comment on Press review
So if Jaro gets a shutout does that a controversy ignite??? - Comment on View From The Blues: New blogger joins I/O
Nice summary Chris. I follow the Habs very closely but I must have missed the reason that Jan Bulis was allowed to leave. I really liked this guy, he played like Plekanec only a little grittier and with a little less skill. I recall hearing something about Gainey not liking him. Was the truth about his departure ever revealed? Or was it simply a case of the Habs having too many similar players in the system that could fill the role for less money? - Comment on The closers
Check that...Leafs lost in Pittsburgh. Can't keep track of home vs away jerseys anymore.
