    while there might not be a marc-andre giveaway in that group, it's not exactly a collection of all-stars either. plus, souray and komisarek were the ones that made markov look like the overrated bum he is today.

    jacques martin could be criticized for his no-stones approach, his track record of being a loser, his impossibly large ears, his decision to play worthless grinders over the super-talented-cute sk74, or the fact that he totally stole his look from this guy: http://www.moviestore.com/thumbnails/150thumbs/267361.jpg. nonetheless, he is criticized for being french, since that is far more offensive than any of his above shortcomings.

    perhaps if the canadiens organization based its decisions solely on what is best for the success of the team, without considering the interests of the french-first media/fans (ie. the people who boo danny briere & the us national anthem, who were overwhelmed with joy when BGL was signed and thought guy lats would be guy lafleur), there wouldn't be as much resentment or blame hurled towards the french coach and shitty french players.  

    step 1, in my opinion, would be bringing back patrice brisebois.

    i am surprised/impressed that Halak has managed to play so well during what is clearly the early stages of parkinson's disease. shaky shaky shaky, go leafs go!!!!!
