It's 2am and I just woke up wondering if last night's game was just a nightmare. Nah, this s41+ is real and the s41+ stinks too. I don't know why the Canadiens thought they could apply he the same strategy that helped them win game 2. They should've known Ottawa would come at them charging and they should've instead returned to the stuff that made them Montreal Canadiens - North East division champions. Now here I am looking like a fool in the presence of my sleepy town Ottawa friends. They are all acting like all of a sudden Ottawa is the place to be. I'm proud of my team and proud of my city but right here, right now......it's easier to be the former than the latter.

You are a voice of reason, Cobb. If Montreal fans needed a fan psychologist to help with a Timo-type of depression then I think you should be the one they call on.

What's crazy is that the only reason we're still atop the division is because Boston is also limping to the finish line. Albeit not on crutches the way our team is getting there. Still, losses are losses and Boston fans are equally worried that their team won't make it past the first round with the way they've been playing lately. But they have Chara and a few other backstoppers to keep giving them a chance. We have one PK and...mm not sure who else. All we can do here is pray to the gods. May they grant us a miracle playoff team or may they make our exit fast and painless.

My psychoanalysis of HIO/Habs fans followers is this - losing a game feels like doomsday. Like it's 2012 all over again. Winning a game feels like it's time to consider where one shall book a spot on the parade route. A lot of wishy washiness going on. The Habs need to stick to their game plan. The fans need to stick to theirs. It's too late to start thinking doomsday. We've clinched a spot using a team of non-superstars, some superstars and up and coming superstars. Frankly I'm ok that our opponents have had their way with us in the last 2 games. There's a method to my madness but the explanation is easy to follow. Getting shellacked like we have in the last two games reveals the seriousness of the holes particularly where we've lost guys like Emelin for the season. The coach has an opportunity to diagnose the problems and try to fix them before the post-season rolls in. Do some experimenting here and there until he gets the right combination. I look at it this way - would you rather we discover these problems now or in the post-season? ......Exactly. At this point I don't think we should worry what our standing will be, who we'll play in the first round or where game 1 will be because all of that will not matter if the problem is not fixed. I have faith.

    Agreed.

Right now, the nominal score here is TOR 5- MTL 1. The real score is TOR 2 - MTL 1. I say this because 3 of T.O's 5 goals had no reason going into that net. So in my mind if Montreal scores another goal, I will convince myself that this wasn't a bad game.
