Boone I always separate you from the Canadiens fandom because you provide an analysis and a perspective that the average fan does not provide. But there are times when the "average fan" in you comes out. It's like we are the Maple Leafs 2014/2015 edition all of a sudden. I agree there's been suckitude in the last 2 games but even the best teams in the NHL go through games of suckitude in consecutive fashion. So chill out bro. You know we have a fickle commentariat who will follow you in your foresight of doom and gloom. We'll be fine. Besides, if we got to a Stanley Cup final, you can guarantee that west coast teams would have destroyed each other by then. The Canadiens would just have to figure out how to take advantage of that. But we'll leave that for a later discussion.

Unfortunately for the Rangers, Prust sitting out is not a loss to us. We still have fire power in Bournival.

Here's how I look at Boston. They remind me of Mike Tyson in his prime. Strong, big and pack a mean punch. If they don't knock their opponent out early in the game their chance of losing goes up exponentially. I say this because Boston started to slow down in overtime, while the younger Canadiens were able to maintain their pace. So it's no surprise, there were two penalties in overtime. Rewind your PVR and you'll see what I mean.

Bad game. I blame it on too many penalties including 2 5-on-3s and a 4 minute. I think logic dictates that you can't gain any momentum if your strategy throughout the game involves trying to keep a puck outside the blue line. And, perhaps we were outmuscled tonight. That being said, unlike the naysayer who is our fearless blogger, I would not fear drawing a team like the blue jackets in the playoffs. It's on to ACC.

You are right on most of the things you say except my comment was not meant to suggest that we go the tank route. In fact I'd be happy if they made it. All I meant to imply was it would also be fine if they didn't make it because we can get a top pick.

From the very beginning MB NEVER promised that a Stanley Cup contender would be built in 2 years. So don't even bother looking at management for the teams woes. We are probably lucky to be in a hypothetical playoff spot. Second, I think it's time to shed the deadweight ie. half the defense and half the offense. Third, it's ok if we don't make it to the playoffs. In fact we'd rather have it that way because it's the only way the building process can ever happen. Not through pointless trades that don't mean a thing. Otherwise, this team is doomed. And I mean it.

Habs being used as target practice for their opponents lately. Defense is weak, no big centres; and Carey won't take them to the promised land.....these guys are doomed. 9th place finish at best.

Boone, I love Subban but not as much as you.

It's 2am and I just woke up wondering if last night's game was just a nightmare. Nah, this s41+ is real and the s41+ stinks too. I don't know why the Canadiens thought they could apply he the same strategy that helped them win game 2. They should've known Ottawa would come at them charging and they should've instead returned to the stuff that made them Montreal Canadiens - North East division champions. Now here I am looking like a fool in the presence of my sleepy town Ottawa friends. They are all acting like all of a sudden Ottawa is the place to be. I'm proud of my team and proud of my city but right here, right now......it's easier to be the former than the latter.

You are a voice of reason, Cobb. If Montreal fans needed a fan psychologist to help with a Timo-type of depression then I think you should be the one they call on.
