Ignoring the media (which is terrible in general, and even more terrible when it comes to Montreal), tonight was the perfect night to bench Subban. With a big lead, Subban really needs to feel some consequences for these absolutely bonehead plays. I'm very glad he didn't play in the 2nd period. - Comment on Sunday argument-starter
I'm not totally sure there's anything special about Campoli either. Haven't seen much of him, but based on his career stats and his bouncing of team to team, I think the real argument is who sits between Campoli, Diaz, and Gill. Emelin does not sit, period. He brings a physical element nobody else brings. Campoli, Diaz, Kaberle, and Subban all bring offensive elements, with Subban and Kaberle obviously being the best of the four. Yes there were many fans calling for Martin's head, but to be fair, the Habs only climbed out of their slump by playing non-Martin hockey. Who would have bet that Martin would finally start giving Cole the minutes he needed, stop putting guys like Darche and Moen in the top 6, and most importantly abandon his beloved trap for an aggressive forechecking style befitting a team with this speed, agility, and talent? - Comment on Undefeated in the post-Pearn era
Eller's not really top 6 even without Gomez. Last night the top 2 lines settled at Gio-Pleks-Patches and AK-DD-Cole. - Comment on Game 4: Avalanche down Canadiens in shootout
Or at the very least something about the weak blue line. As much as I absolutely love Gorges, if he's showing up each night as the team's best performing D-man, we're in massive trouble. - Comment on Quick Hits
Agreed, could have been the exact same situation with our team. Wasn't game 7, but it may have well been. Still almost gave up a shortie with under 5 minutes to play. - Comment on Quick Hits
I'm more worried about Gio, Pleks, and Cammy. They all played around 25 minutes. In contrast, every Bruins forward except for one was under 19 minutes. Krejci played a shade over 20, Lucic under 8 minutes. If our top 3 can't step up tomorrow, who does? Gomez? Kostitsyn? A possibly hurt Eller? Will Desharnais play? Pouliot?
