I think we need a bit of perspective. There are too many highs and lows on this comment board. This team is what it is. A compilation of supporting cast members with an excellent goaltender and an up and coming defenseman. The rest of the team would compliment the second and third line of a bona fide contender, but none of them are top 6.In the end we will finish as everyone predicted-8th place. Boone's comments on Max Pac are bang on. He at least made us more difficult to play against. Right now we are the same team, in the same position as last year and for those who think we will just turn it on in the first round are naive. Last year we caught lightning in a bottle. This year teams know us-whether it will be Philly, Washington or Boston, they play a game that simply blocks out our forwards and renders them ineffective. We will make the playoffs but after that, I am expecting nothing. I am more worried about next year. I am worried that management will use injuries as an excuse for our performance and will do nothing in the off season. We cannot go into next year with this same team. Toronto is up and coming and so are a number of other teams. We need to change our direction. Tough decisions to be made. A healthy Max Pac makes all the difference but he needs help. The top three are not working out-who do you move? The only person to generate any interest will be Cammy. He will be a good addition to a second line elite team with larger bodies. We may get something bigger and more reliable in return. Gomez, well we either buy him out, or pay half his salary but we have to move him. He has lost the city. His presence on the ice is creating a negative atmosphere. If Markov wants too much, forget him, he is too unreliable and focus on Gorges. Bring back Mara, Sopel and the Wiz, as well as Gil and Hammer at a reduced rate. Say good bye to Spacek. I would keep AK,he will produce. Moen,Darche and Helpern are good grit. The kids are all right-Eller, DD, White will be fine. Pouliot and Pyatt are spare parts. We need to target a big body forward and get him otherwise we are repeating ourselves again next year. Please kill me now. This team is driving me crazy. We can't hit the net, we don't crowd the net, and when we do shoot it is from hell's half acre!

    Pop gun team-pop gun offence.

I have been a fan of this team since I was a kid. I have bled red, blue and white for years. I make it to Montreal twice a year from Timmins, Ontario to catch a game. I am a lifer for Les Habs. However I am also a realist and I see nothing in this team makes me believe that they will do anything in the playoffs, IF they hang on to 8th place. Of the 8 playoff teams , they are the weakest. Unfortunately Bob Gainey and Pierre Gauthier have built this team to small up front and too old and slow on defense, and they handcuffed them with the wrong coach. If this team is designed for speed than why not turn them loose? Use the one damn asset they have and let them go!!

My biggest concern is that we are saddled with this personnel for years. I say trade Hammer, Spacek and Gill right now to a playoff strong team and get something in return. Puoliot and AK are too unpredictable to keep so unload them as well. We have some good trade bait for teams and I am afraid we need to rebuild AGAIN!!Gomez I am sorry for his flashes of brilliance is eating up too much cap space, so place him on waivers and send him down a la Redden and maybe go after Richards.

Oh yeah and find a coach.

We need size and we need it for next year. This year to me is slipping away.

I am not giving up, I am waking up, there is a difference.

    Why not fire JM?

You can't fire the whole team, so might as well change their style to one that they are best suited.

The one thing the Habs can afford is salary, so let him go, and bring in a coach who plays to the strengths of this team. Speed and skating.

This team has stopped playing for him and his use of the players he does have, has led to this mess.

It is time to see what the farm hands can do, and either sit, bench or demote those players that are dragging their butts-Gomez, Pouliot and Spacek, to name a few.

Let Auld play a few games to rest Carey and let's find a coach who will let these guys skate and fly like they are built to do.

I see a loss tomorrow and Sunday just to complete the perfecta.

  • Comment on Is there a record for 3-0 losses?

s\Smoke and mirrors is what this team is.

The winning record and the playoff run more of the Habs outstopping the opposition as opposed to outplaying them.

Our top 6 would merely compliment a line or two on other teams as opposed to being our source of goal production. They are simply too small to play the kind of game the NHL requires game in and game out.

Our defense is slow and immobile and at least Wisneuwski will be an upgrade. Tell me why we traded O'Byrne?

The system is a glorified trap that works well for a team of hard working, physical players who will take the hits and work like hell to protect their net. This team is not built that way.

We let Boucher get away for this?

Much like Calgary we need a new coach and one who is not afraid to demote high priced ineffective talent.

I do not see a win in their next 3 games, and by early 2011 we will be in 9th.

Same song as last year-back in and hope for the best.

I do not want to make the playoffs this year. We need to be embarassed to make serious changes from the coach down.

Time to move Spacek and Hamrlik. Bring up Subban and Weber.

    Sign Halak and Price.

    Move the brothers K.

Trade for some prospects and let's rebuild properly.

    This experiment has failed.

  • Comment on Game 77: Ward stones Canadiens

    Get over it!!!

    This was not Price!!!

Did he let the guy breeze around him and then push him into the goalie??!!!

Where was this team on Saturday with Halak in net??

This is a team and a coach's failure.
