apparently we signed greg pateryn. and earlier this year morgan ellis. gauthier is really bringing up our D in the next couple years Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Best defense is a good offense. Vicious circle.

AGREEEEE. to me, it seems as though Gauthier replaced Kostitsyn with Bourque. That seemed to be his vision. what a mistake that was. I'll never argue that kostitsyn is an incredible player with great work ethic and is consistent, because it's not true. But he certainly makes Bourque look like an incompetent loser. The trade to remove cammy was smart, but getting bourque is a joke. maybe he'll turn it around, but from what ive heard from Flames fans, we should expect this for a while Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Best defense is a good offense. Vicious circle.

I am worried about Bourque. It was a mistake to get him. It wasn't a mistake to trade Cammalleri however. How will someone get him going? he's being paid over 3 mil to get himself going. he can at least skate, but half the time you dont even see him doing that! and what can get someone going more than playing for the habs in the loudest arena. And finally, even Iginla couldnt get him out of his incosistent self. Even Iginla couldnt get him to play game after game. If he can't do it, NOBODY in the habs dressing room can. only thing in habs organization that can maybe trigger something is that cozy seat up in the pressbox for a game or two. show him we are not messing around Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Best defense is a good offense. Vicious circle.

Sorry, Beaulieu is not ready. He is good...against 16, 17, 18 year olds. Some who will never play in the NHL. He was not very good in the world Juniors, against elite players who will most likely play in the NHL. He is not very big yet and needs to continue working on his defense. Maybe he'll play in Hamilton next year, but even that is just a possibility. Tinordi is more NHL ready than him, and even Tinordi needs a year in the AHL. They have succeeded in the Juniors, but it's the juniors. Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Best defense is a good offense. Vicious circle.

diaz is MUCH better than Kaberle. Defensively and with the puck. fine kaberle is good on PP, but you should be good when you have one less opponent on the ice. if not you suck big time Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Best defense is a good offense. Vicious circle.

Cammalleri out against the team he called "losers" prior to being traded. seems like a little bit of a coincidence. no? maybe he is injured. but if not, little bit of a pussy. you better back up your words. Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Best defense is a good offense. Vicious circle.

um, im not here to defend Gauthier, because I too think he manages like an amateur, but I do have to give him credit where you bash him. I see your comparisons, and I think they are the wrong ones. AK, we did not just give him away. We got a pick for him, and that is as much as you can ask for a player like him. I would have been ok with keeping him because he plays like a 3 mil type of player and he does some good, but we are in rebuilding mode, and he is not someone who I couldve seen growing with a rebuilding team. Either way, we knew AK was gone when we got someone to replace him...Bourque. If you think we got Bourqueto replace Cammy, that's wrong. We didnt replace Cammy, we got rid of him because he was selfish and not playing for the team. We also didn't just give away Cammy, we got some nice assets for him. A nice prospect, and a 2nd rounder. Bourque was to replace AK, and these picks and prospects are perhaps to put together to get someone to replace Cammy or they may even turn out to be snipers like Cammy couldve been. Also, yes Gomez is still around, and the mistake was to acquire him, but Gauthier didn't keep him by choice, he couldnt get rid of him. No team would trade for him, and anything else (buyout, waive) wouldn't have worked during the season. Maybe the offseason (hopefully). We gave a lot away for gomez and i think they wanna squeeze every bit of juice out of him before they ditch him somewhere. As for Gill, once again, we got a handful for him (2nd rounder, Geoffrion and some other guy) that's quite a bit for someone who started to play less and less and wasnt effective for a team that needs goals. We got plenty of assets for him, wasnt a give away. and we are thinking of next year now, where maybe tinordi can do something to replace Gill. And spacek? We didnt replace Spacek with Kaberle, we replaced Markov with Kaberle. We needed someone on our PP, and it wasnt going to be spacek. The way I see it, Diaz replaced Spacek. We cant cry about giving away spacek. His career is almost over, and we replaced an aging average defender, with a young average-developing defender. You cant see it as Spacek for Kaberle, because that is not why we did that trade. And even if you wanna look at it like that, well kaberle (in habs uniform) has about 6 times a many points this season as Spacek did (in habs uniform). Yes, Spacek was injured, but that has to be considered, where Kaberle has been pretty healthy while on the team. I also consider the fact that Spacek was injured because he was a rugged defensive player who battled hard, where Kaberle is soft and a little bit of a girl. But we got defenders to do the dirty work, that is why I believe it was ok to get rid of Spacek. Our mistake (on defense) was letting Hamrlik go. anyways, this is obviously all IMO
