  Ian, I skated on those rings, mostly Lesperance, in those day. The cold air freezing your lungs, the sting of the puck hitting your shin, the constant smell for oranges from the boxes. My son played 16yrs of minor hockey and I helped coach alot of those years. We had ONE (1) outdoor practice just for the fun of it. The kids loved it, the parents complained. Now I occationally skate on the outdoor lake in St-Bruno, where I live. But you can still see and hear the sounds of outdoor hockey from our local rings. Long live the Canadian winter...........
