Dawson and Carter were also heroes to me right along with Lafleur and Shutt. Listening to Dave van Horne and Duke Snider on CHFX in Halifax.

I see a lot of folks writing off AK46 on this forum. I hope that we re-sign him. Everyone talks about how we are finally starting to get a little bigger up front and how we always seem to need that last big guy whether it is the elusive 1st or 4th line centre. So why the hell would we let go exactly the type of player that everyone wants?? AK46 has size, speed, and skill; he can score and throw his weight around. We all know he is streaky but his career stats by year are very consistent. IMO, he is not being used effectively this year: not playing T6 minutes more often than not and not getting PP time. He fits into our new power winger with Cole, MaxPac, and RB. Sign Him!

I may not like Marchand's reckless attitude either (he is a weasel), but he is a great little hockey player.

Nice work on the 1st unit PP by Kaberle, eh Boone?

When you boil it down, I have only one untouchable on this roster: Carey Price. PK is close for me, but this team moving forward should be built around Carey IMO.

I agree. I see alot of people suggesting him as trade deadline material. But I still like him and his potential. He is big (215 lbs), fast, great hands, and can hit (although I think his Hit #'s are down this year). Sounds like the kind of player we are looking to bring in here. We are always talking about the power forward that we need with the Habs; we should not be letting one slip away.

I guess that would be Hammer (3.5m) and Spacek (3.8m) over Kaberle (4.25). Spacek may have been dealt regardless.

I have to admit, I do like Gomez and I think he is going to have a nice season. I am predicting 15/55 for a 70 point seaon with a healthy MaxPac and Gionta beside him. I will not defend his salary; I believe he should be in the Cammy / Gionta bracket. To have this kind of season he can not always be the perimeter guy; 10 awesome rushes (well, they start that way) a night that end up along the wall as he attempts to cross the other team's blueline. Teams line up across the blueline when he picks the puck up in our end and that forces him to the outside - he needs to be less predictable by trying to go to the net which should play right into MacPac's game. That should also allow Gionta to get open more if Gomez starts trying different options in the other teams zone. He has great wheels, puck carrying skills, and passing ability but teams watch video and if you try the same thing every time it is easy to defend against.
