I'm not sure... Diaz has been skating by himself for a few days. I don't think it will be long before he's back with the team. - Comment on About last night ...
Couple of thoughts from last night: - I'll start off by stating the obvious, and say that last night was the worst I have ever seen Price play. The 2nd and 3rd goals were just plain bad. But, like we've seen many times in the past, Price will bounce back. - 4 goals on 5 shots? I thought the Habs outplayed the Leafs in the first, but some bad goaltending and luck on the Leafs side definitely put us behind the eight ball. - I have to say, I didn't like the way MT started the game. In my opinion, his decisions earlier in the game should be questioned. He tried to match the Leafs rough and tough style by putting Prust out in the opening lineup. The second shift of the game went to the 4th line, where we got caught running around in our own zone and Boullion took the penalty. From there on in, everything was just down hill. I prefer if we stick to what we excel at, and that's smart and fast hockey. If he were to put out a scoring line that generated a few scoring chances, the whole game could have been different. - In all honesty, I am not afraid to play these guys in the PO. Both games where we were "blown-out", they had crazy shooting luck. That kind of play is just not sustainable over a playoff series. - I like to believe this was an anomaly. They just clinched a playoff seed against a team they absolutely dominated, so I guess this kind of drop in play can be "expected". - I rather the team suck now than suck closer to, or during the playoffs. You pay more attention to what you're bad at when you lose. So hopefully they work out the kinks... - Comment on About last night ...
I am by no means a DD basher. I am equally critical of Max as well, who doesnt seem to have the same drive as last season. My feeling is that he came back from the appendectomy surgery too quick, and lost some muscle that he hasnt been able to recover. Further, Coaches and management have stressed accountability and "no excuses". DD played 20 mins last night, was -1 and had one shot on goal. Yes he's a playmaker, and was setting up Max, but he's got to do more. I feel that this whole season, they've been trying to get him going. And by all means, I agree, if he was 6'4 he would be the best player in the league, but he is not. Simple as that. Shorter players need to be faster and strong defensively in order to succeed in the NHL. Is he? I'm not sure - Comment on Therrien shuffles lines; Budaj will face Sabres with new contract
Thoughts: -The issue with DD is that he is a one dimensional player. If you split him and Max up, who do you play him with so that he is somewhat valuable? -I was reading a stat yesterday that Eller and DD were tied in PP points, but Eller had only played 20 mins on the pp, whereas DD 120 mins… -Really liked the way Beaulieu played in the 3rd. Made a good play on the second goal. Like the fact that MT put him out on the ice when we needed a goal. He played 14:00 without any pp time. - The practice lines for today had Bourque slip in with pleks and gio. I would have much rather prefer having pleks play with ryder and bourque, and have gionta move in with Eller and Galchenyuk… - I would have preferred to have Eller out on the ice in the last minute than DD. He was having a much better game to that point. - re: DD and Max struggles. I would rather they struggle now than in the playoffs. Hopefully they get going soon and carry that momentum into the playoffs. - Our defensive depth is looking paper thin right now. Hopefully Diaz comes back soon. However, is he the answer? - Comment on About last night ...
well, with DD's contract extension we can clearly see the route management is taking in regards to this. Kind of sad considering the strides Eller has taken this year. - Comment on About last night ...

I thought he made good outlet passes that led to legitimate scoring chances. He basically played a game without having an actual practice with the team, therefore it is understandable that he had a few lapses in the D-Zone. Overall, I thought he showed the most promise amongst the 3...
