Really enjoying this season. This looks like a team that's just entering its window of opportunity. An appearance in a Stanley Cup Final is a real possibility in the next 3-5 years. As we say in the computer biz, it starts at the top. And that means Molson and Bergevin. I loved Bob Gainey the player but his years at the helm were forgettable. A good eye for talent kept the team in limbo—right around on the periphery of a playoff slot. Not good enough to challenge for a Cup, not bad enough to score a generational talent like Crosby or Malkin. Pacioretty's in the lineup? Geezuschristmas, the guy is the Bionic Man! Glad the game's on early so I have something to occupy my mind before my beloved Niners take the field. Haven't we had enough stupid trades in the last 20 years? Just get the deal done with PK and let's move on. It would be one thing if he didn't want to play in Montreal, but he loves the white-hot glare. If the Habs win a Stanley Cup in the next few years, Subban's name will be on the silverware. Really—and the Devils announcers aren't that bad. They were praising Galchenyuk all night long. They fussed a bit about Markov's game winner but not a big deal. Non-issue. "When you are the Canadiens, you cannot make excuses." — Henri Richard, on what it meant to be a Montreal Canadian

Nice win! Liking the energy on the ice. I watched the Devils feed and the announcers were commenting on how different that Habs are playing this year. Cole is starting slow, like he did last year. But he will pick it up along with Desharnais. Hard to imagine Galchenyuk not sticking. His skill set it amazing. He and Gallagher seem to have some magic going. Hopefully Subban will be back in the fold this week. Come on, Montreal is NOT going to trade PK Subban! That would be a fatal mistake by Bergevin. Who are you going to get of equal value? And don't even talk to me about draft choices. "Fluid meritocracy …" Mike, your neurons are in mid-season form! Hmm, people think this team can go far without PK? A few losses will fix that perception. The Habs will sign him and we'll all forget about this very quickly. My only fear is that the nosediving Flyers will give Subban an offer sheet that Montreal will be forced to match. Is that still possible? Markov looks like a youngster out there again. Therrien seems to be pushing the right buttons. Bourque looks like a different player out there and Diaz is a revelation. Here at HP Pavilion for the Habs biannual visit to San Jose. Lots of Habs fans here but less than in previous years. Can't remember the last time Montreal won a game here but it's been awhile.

How come there's no air in this room? What a series. What a game. No regrets regardless of how it ends tonight. I'm excited about where this team is headed with players like Price, Eller, Subban, Pacioretty, and Desharnais.
