A six goal outburst from our at times offensively challenged boys? Boring? I don't think so! I will be very happy to watch the Habs pump in six goals anytime and promise to be content and entertained even if some of said goals are ugly or dirty......... "Gardez la Foi! Keep the Faith!"

I did not like the Clutterbuck hit on Bournival last night, especially given that Clutterbuck is a known predator of the non-Nashville variety. He has been suspended before and his dirty, sneaky hit on Bournival was of the same variety as one of the hits that was largely responsible for Sydney Crosby's concussion woes- one of those accidental but absolutely on purpose types of hits. Player Safety in the NHL will not and should not be taken seriously as long as hits like this go unpenalized and unpunished. Since it appears that Bournival was not hurt on the play, maybe a fine would have been sufficient, but zero response from the league says that a certain amount of dirty, predatory play is tolerable and acceptable and it should not be, especially when the perpetrators have track records of deliberately injuring other teams' players....... Poor Edwards- I have come to fully appreciate his obsession with the word "zero"- He always announces scores to be "one-zero", or "two- zero" instead of "one nothing" or "one to nothing". It can only be because he has to be one of the biggest ZEROS and losers that God ever created. My brother in law who is a Bruins fan and a high school hockey Ref routinely refers to Edwards as an "embarrassment" - probably a great fit for that organization. "Gardez la Foi! Keep the Faith!"

Anytime Burly. That piece just demonstrates all the more that the Bruins really are an evil empire if you ask me. I root for all the Boston sports teams EXCEPT them. Apparently there is another piece by Stewy just on Edwards that I have to look up in the archive. "Gardez la Foi! Keep the Faith!"

Former NHL Referee Paul Stewart on the Marchand slew foot, Jack Edwards, Andy Brickley and the NESN Ministry of Misinformation. Great stuff and tangible evidence of why the Bruins are such a contemptible organization: http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Paul-Stewart/Ill-Take-Dangerous-Infractions-for-400-Alex/196/65648 "Gardez la Foi! I am not that bothered by the loss last night. 2nd of a back to back on the road against a rested Sens team that has been playing better under Cameron even if the bottom line results have not been that different. Add to that a point made a number of times on the TSN broadcast- Karlsson and the Sens are noticably different with Methot healthy and in the lineup. Apart from one team being more rested, the other noticeable difference, which is not unrelated, is desperation, which we do need to continue to be concerned about. Desperation is arguably the most plausible explanation for the dramatic difference between Habs performances in 1st periods vice 3rd periods. It also is almost certainly a contributing factor with regard to the power play. Take Wednesday night in Columbus- first 2 periods, a number of powerplays and zero goals. Fast forward to period 3- 2 goal deficit- 3 power play goals and another come from behind victory. Critical to "desperate play" is also attention and focus. MT's emphasis on "reading the play" is spot on. Frank Broyles the former coach at Arkansas and college football commentator once repeated the mantra- AWARENESS, AWARENESS, AWARENESS! It's critical in all sports and something that is essential for success as opposed to being lackadaisical which only causes bad things to happen. It goes hand in hand with desperate play because one untimely gaff or turnover can be the difference between winning and losing. The teams "on the outside looking in" are starting to get desperate. The Habs need to pick it up a notch as well........ "Gardez la Foi! Keep the Faith!"

Chara will be drooling before too long as well. The Bruins have actually fared far better with Chara out of the lineup this season than with him. The consensus among the Bruins beat writers is that Chara looks older and slower and at 37 that trend is only going to get worse. If his cap hit was closer to Markov's at 5.75 million or so he might be more movable but 6.9 million for next season for this player at this point in his career is an albatross of horrific proportions. The 4 million hit in the final year is more manageable but almost 7 million per year for a player that at this point seems to be more of a liability than an asset just does not make any business or hockey sense......... The Habs played a different Carolina team last night, a team that with Jordan Staal playing with his brother from the beginning of the regular season is a much more formidable opponent. The Canes broadcasters mentioned more than once that last year on New Year's Eve the Habs blew a 3-0 lead to the Canes and went on to lose to them in OT. Last night they didn't. Maybe it was closer than we would have liked, but I will take the 2 points. P K needs to continue to try to stay disciplined as his 3rd period penalty could have wound up being a lot more costly. That goal gave the Cains some momentum that could have become the turning point in the game. There is just no reason to take a bad penalty in the 3rd period a 2-0 game when you have your foot on your opponent's throat as it were. I would start Price again tonight and play Tokarski in NJ or Pittsburgh. "Gardez la Foi! Keep the Faith!"

Dear Friends, Christmas Greetings to all- As we are only on day 3 of this 12 day celebration, may I kindly request that we not refer to that unfortunate turn of events that transpired in the Spring of 2011? After all, the Christmas Season is supposed to be marked by the partaking of festive foods and libations without having to guard against or combat nausea and vomiting. For many of us, the Spring of 20011 was a rather stark reminder that unfortunately sometimes the darkness eclipses the light. Even now, it is virtually impossible for me to go through the day without being confronted with numerous representations of the insignia of Lord Chara and the Evil Empire- that hideous spoked "B"- Might I suggest that we focus more about the present and the future and the way that it seems as though not only is Tuukka Rask Carey Price's ____________ (substitute word for female canine) but the entire Bruins team is quickly becoming that same animal as regards our beloved Habs. Ah, I feel so much better after getting that off of my chest! Happy Christmas everyone! "Gardez la Foi! Keep the Faith!"
