  Babysitting the 10-month old granddaughter tonight. She already has Habs sleepers. Hopefully by the time she understands the game there will be something to cheer for. In any case, Grandpa isn't watching until Martin is gone. Tomorrow night, it's Richard Gwyn's biography of Sir John A. McDonald - Part 2. Part 1 was excellent.

  Just read a post downstream where someone mentioned that Houle and Mario Tremblay 'ruined the team'. They were incompetent, but they didn't ever give away a 1st rounder for an over-the-hill guy making superstar dollars. Gainey ruined this team for the bettter part of a decade.

  I'm basically at the point where I don't care to watch us score two goals or less a game. Until we get an management and coach who wants to use our speed and talent, it's pretty brutal to watch.

  I was 6 rows behind the Penguins bench and saw things up close. Bylsma must have had 50 different little exchanges with his players - a word or two sometimes. I did not notice Martin interacting with his players once.

  Sure looked like he was playing it very tight and restrictive. But I forgot to mention my brother and I won some Ford fan thing - padded seats, hats, $100 at the Habs store each and $25 each in food. Plus we were on the big screen. Too much excitement for this old guy.
