or have Weise go flying skates first into Lundquist

After some further thought, I agree. Maybe it was the "young team" comment and the sense I get that Therrien and Bergevin seem to consciously (at least publicly) lower expectations for their team. I'd prefer if he said "tonight's game is a challenge but I think we're up to it and need to be if we're going to build on last season's performance". I find they baby the team a little with their comments. Perhaps some of it is to protect their own jobs.

Not everything is black and white. I guess it's easy for you to respond obnoxiously like that and assume I meant the exact opposite (i.e. there's no challenge whatsoever) of what Therrien said. I'm aware there are different approaches and I guess almost all coaches have to state that every game is tough. I just felt he went slightly overboard for an early regular season game.

"A hell of a challenge"? Has Therrien forgotten that the Habs made the semi-finals last season? Are the Habs younger than the Red Wings? I guess most games must be "a hell of a challenge" (I suppose many are). I very much respect the Red Wings style of play and talent but I hate Therrien and Bergevin always understating their own team's chances of success. I know he may be doing it for the media but take off the training wheels! They should be aiming for the Cup this season (not just making the playoffs)! Players need to feel some pressure and cracking of the whip or they'll coast too much over 82 games, especially in Montreal where the media often overreacts with too much admiration and attention after their wins.
- Comment on Habs recall Bournival from Hamilton; battle for jobs on fourth line (with practice video) (2014-10-20 19:30:17)
I haven't been able to watch all of the Habs games so far. What has Weise done (or not done) specifically to merit being a healthy scratch twice? Were the Habs playing pacifists by not playing him vs. Boston? Is he not quite big/tough enough for the 4th line and not skilled enough with the puck for either the 3rd or 4th line? I guess Habs have depth for the 4th line so that's playing a role. I just thought he was a lock given his playoff performance.
- Comment on Habs have best record in NHL after Saturday’s win over Avalanche (2014-10-20 06:59:12)
Jack Todd can write as many articles as he wants putting Lucic down and dismissing his approach as self-defeating but I would not be the least surprised if at some point, sooner rather than later, Lucic seriously injures one or more of our players (again). The writing is clearly on the wall. He fears no one on the Habs and is seemingly supported by his team (and arguably the NHL who tacitly approve his style of play).

I hear you and your points seem logical. For what it's worth, my source was in the hospital at the same time as Price was and was told be a doctor that Price was in there to have surgery. My source seems to think the Habs are keeping it a secret. Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter as much as his recovery (either way).

Again, if it's common knowledge then never mind, but if not then Boone, if there's any way for you (or Stubbs) to ask Price, Therrien or Bergevin if Price had surgery after the Kreider hit I'd be very curious to hear how/what they respond. I know for a fact that he did.

Is it common knowledge that Carey Price had leg or knee surgery a few months ago after the playoffs? Apologies if this is commonly known, but if it isn't, I have information from a very reliable source in the same hospital at the time that he did have surgery. His health could be a bigger deal then we may be aware of.
- Comment on Alexei Emelin in lineup, Nathan Beaulieu out for Habs against Bruins (2014-10-16 11:24:40)
I'm not a Cashman fan and agree he's made as many mistakes as good moves, but I will give him some of the credit for amazing playoffs run the Yankees had from 1995-2012
