Chicago had 4 put by them tonight and NY had 2 (or 3 not sure how they count SO).... so with games in hand there is breathing room, yes. *********************** If it ain't broke, don't fix it..... ***********************

Still top 20 in scoring, no ? So yes I would take him if he were a free agent, but he isn't. I like the direction we are going. Stay the course. Keep the powder dry for when the salary cap overtakes the Rangers.... (Next year?) Then it is a showdown between us and Tampa for the Cup Finals. *********************** If it ain't broke, don't fix it..... ***********************

First there should have been a penalty called, the Senator's stick was clearly in the hands and not near the puck. PK crossed the line when he purposely fell. Regardless that should have been a penalty before the embellishment. I wonder if the ref will be fined for missing the hooking call ? I am tired of the referees bringing in their egos and prejudices into a game. We don't watch hockey to see a ref make a call, but they are important to a game. However when they don't make calls because they feel slighted previously from a player that is when the game is compromised. The worst ego interfering with a game was Kerry Fraser. Tremblay should be embarrassed. I hope he loses favour amongst viewers/fans and is sacked.... *********************** If it ain't broke, don't fix it..... ***********************

We did not play any of our deadline day players and got an easy win. Still got outshot though. I do like the depth we added on deadline day, but maybe we keep them as depth... not that I don't think Petry has the goods, he does, but why mess with our success. It will be a long playoff (hopefully) and we will need the depth. However lets play out the regular season with who got us here and see where we fall. *********************** If it ain't broke, don't fix it..... ***********************

Although I am not excited about what has transpired the last two weeks, I am not ready to complain about the coaching, the trades at deadline, the line combinations, the reliance on goaltending, the system, the lack of goals for, the size of our forwards or the power play. I think a few teams got better than us on deadline day and that is okay because we were not ready to win the cup this year. It is a couple of years away. Hopefully some needs will be addressed in the off-season...scoring being of prime concern. As for this year's playoffs... round one is a win.... but playing Tampa Bay will be tough and if we get to play the Rangers... well, I will not be excited to see how that turns out... even if we get to the SC Finals facing 7 games against a Western team coming out of that juggernaut.... the odds don't favour us. We held on to most of our draft picks and most of out emerging talent at the deadline.... one that saw our team get a little deeper, but not better. In conclusion, seeing a panic button today isn't going to make me press it. In two years, if we are not in the finals as the expected champion, I will be pressing the panic button with a sledge hammer ruing the day we didn't make a splash at this years deadline. But that is two year's away and I sleep just fine at night now. *********************** If it ain't broke, don't fix it..... ***********************
