i did some thinking with the lights off and a glass of neocitron. it comes down to the fact that in the eyes of the habs brass, pleks is more important than halak. they couldn't afford both and they couldn't afford to get players making > 1 mil a season in return for halak. the other question is why get players minimal potential rather than draft picks. the answer: habs suck at drafting, subban notwithstanding, and if you want proof they just fired their entire scouting staff 2 weeks ago. still tho...letting the # 4 goalie in the league go for nothing....

In my geography, Nova Scotia, there are essentially two places to get your hockey fix. TSN or CBC. Unless I'm willing to cough up 10$ a month for a French channel package-I am not due to my university student income- I don't get RDS. I think it is an embarassment to the CRTC that this is the case while on a given night I can tune into at least 3 baseball games.
On an unrelated note, my dream broadcast crew:
Gord Miller callin shots, Craig Simpson making comments. Mac T, Milbury and Mckenzie (I have to have someone to disagree with) on the intermission panel hosted by Duthie.

You can tell he loves his job. He's my favorite.
