Seeing as this is Come Home Year: Therrien Ryder Halpern I think the next prodigal son to return will be....Ryan O'Byrne. (depth defenceman who will be a healthy scratch and only play in the event of an injury) - Comment on Habs return home after rookie dinner in Florida
I wish! Alas, I'm nowhere nearly computer savvy enough to do something like that :) - Comment on Habs return home after rookie dinner in Florida
Next season's UFA reclamation project (to replace Armstrong): Pierre-Marc Bouchard on a 1 yr deal. - Comment on Habs return home after rookie dinner in Florida
With all this talk of Perry maybe getting $9m+/yr I took a look at the biggest cap hits in the league. I think it's pretty interesting that the 4 biggest cap hits remain Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin, and E. Staal. Even with UFA inflation, nobody has signed a contract bigger than these, which were signed in 2008. Wonder why that is? - Comment on Habs return home after rookie dinner in Florida
Luongo for Paajarvi (sp?) makes too much sense for it not to happen. - Comment on Habs return home after rookie dinner in Florida
The only trade I see Montreal making at the deadline will be a depth move - some insurance for the bottom pairing. Somebody who will likely sit but might be needed in case of injury. Ryan O'Byrne for a 4th or 5th. - Comment on Habs deal Cole to Stars for Ryder
Looking at Capgeek just now and I'm thinking that there's a strong likelihood we'll see at least one of Beaulieu and Tinordi on the team next year. Three spots will likely be opened on the back end (Kaberle, Bouillon, Weber)...but more importantly, the year after that the only defenceman under contract will be Gorges. Next year will be the time to see what we have with our defensive prospects.
