Great news and I'm sure a lot of english speaking Canadiens fans are happy. At least now catching streams I can be guaranteed I can catch the game in english and not have to listen to those hacks on RDS. Hopefully the english is more competent than that senile guy on RDS who never got the names right. Or worse when they go on and on and forget the hockey game is on. No more commercials cutting into the gameplay either. Finally! And though I hate commercials at least there will be different commercials and not the same ones all season long. My god those french commercials, I don't know where they got some of those actors but yikes!!! Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur

Hahahaha, have to say that headline sure made me chuckle. So much so my coffee began coming out of my nose. Gotta love the habs media. I don't even think there is anything else worth saying at this point but thanks for the laugh. Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur

Not a playoff player. Too small against a bigger tougher opponent you might as well just send him to the dressing room, inconsistent only plays when he feels like it. You guys talk about pairing him with bigger players? That's the problem, the whole team has cycled through his line and what's it brought? Flash here and there. He's a 5 mil cap hit. Get rid of him while he's still worth something. Look at Gorges. 1 year too long with him and what did we get for him? Next to jack really. These guys become to complacent with these contracts, think they are unmovable. People were saying Gorges, Captain material, that's ridiculous. He's an average joe defenceman who you can quote. From what I've read here and there Plekanec is being shopped. Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur

Good job, you are impressing me MB! Gorges and Gio gone! Now we can only get better. Just loved Gorges turning down a Toronto trade! Now we still got Moen and potentially Plekanec on the block. Starting to get excited for next season already. Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur

Are you surprised by MB not winning? I'm not. This is going to be a summer for him to truly prove himself in my mind. Signing Markov to me was a bad idea, he's old, he's slow and not anywhere as marvelous as he was. The real good idea would have been to bring up the young guys. It's about rebuilding and I question just how remarkable Markov is with the younger players. Now the question is of these players, Gionta (old/small/useless), Plekanec (non-playoff player and kind of a wuss) and Moen. MB will have to move these guys. Having these guys around another year is going to hurt not help. I wait with great anticipation of what MB does but I'm not holding my breath. People might think it was Therrien who got us where we were, it was the players themselves. Losing Gallant is going to hurt us too. But his future in Montreal was that of an Assistant coach, we all know he'd never get the top job as he's not french. Deny it, but it's the cold hard truth. Roy on the other-hand who should have been the Habs coach was well deserved. Congrats to Roy! Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur

I haven't had cable for 2 years, I've been watching live streams ever since. I don't need any hacked this or that. I don't know why you would need hacks. Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur

I guess so eh... Shame I thought MB would turn this club around but instead he's more interested in making rich players richer. But I guess the statement is true, this is a business more than a sport. Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur

Wow 3 years for old slow Markov. Unbelievable. What's next Gionta for 5 years? So much for the young talent having a chance. Play every game as if it is your last one. Guy Lafleur
  • Comment on Markov looking for three-year, $18-million deal: report (2014-06-17 11:40:49)
Definitely passionate. I don't want to seem like I am arguing but I feel you have to give the young guys a proper shot. We are rebuilding right? Sure they will make mistakes and that's when coaches can then show them their mistakes and let them build on them and get better next game. The old saying "you learn from your mistakes". You don't learn by being benched many games and looking from the pressbox. Rebuilding has pains associated with it. We have the talent below, we just need them to play and get the experience. Markov to me is not a example of excellence anymore. We need to get Tinordi and Beaulieu up and get them the time on the ice. Look at Gionta, how does he show experience to younger players and stuff when he is constantly giving the puck away, slow to get back and backcheck, almost invisible along the boards. A shot that could barely make it through cardboard. Great, I'm happy he is great in the dressing room but on the ice he stinks and he robs time away from the young guys. I got nothing personal against these players, I am looking to the future and don't care to be stuck in the present. MB is doing a good job overall, but I'll just end this by saying I hope he "really" thinks about resignings. You got to have faith in your young talent and give them the chance. • Comment on Markov looking for three-year, $18-million deal: report (2014-06-17 10:18:20)
Well I'd like to see that. He was no amazing player this year. Fanboy love doesn't do anything for the actualities here. He's old, slowed down and really not the old Markov. If someone wants to pay him that ridiculous amount of money, let them. Therrien, again, another fanboy vs realism argument. He's such a great coach he had to spend the whole season mixing lines and when he had good line combo's he mixed them up again. Let players like Gionta who major stink get major minutes on the ice and sitting young players who made mistakes. He killed Tinordi's confidence big time. He's an average coach in my opinion and MB really f'd up when they didn't take Roy. I expect Therrien gone within 2 years. Mark my words, unless this team changes next year, MB makes some hard decisions we will not have the success we did this year. Signing Markov and Gionta is not something that will help this team moving forward. When you got players who are supposed to score but can't when you need them too, there's problems. Chalking it up bad luck or no luck is not acceptable when they make millions. Do you see Crosby go months without a goal? Never. I didn't even knock at Plekanec who for most of the playoffs is invisible. Year in year out, same thing. How many years do we have to go with the same old same old?
