Both are winners. Winning binds them. I really like how scrappy Pleks is. He seems like a nice guy but apparently Kladno is a real working class town. You see how edgy he is some games. Fun to watch. ------------------------------------- Listen to the Smart Dog. He knows his poop!

Re. Plekanec - Subban Subban is all emotion. Plekanec is all composure. I don't expect these two guys to get along. In the video it looks like Pleks said something or just wasn't gonna high-5 and so Subban took a "friendly" swipe at him. To which Pleks reacted with a jab to the knads. To which I say "meh". The boys stormed back the next night and played a great game. These guys don't have to like each other. I'm sure they both respect what the other guy does on the ice. ------------------------------------- Listen to the Smart Dog. He knows his poop!

In defense of Pierre McGuire. People on here like to put McGuire down. But I'll say it now - I like the guy. Sure, he's sometimes wrong, but that's because he sticks his neck out. Unlike most of the supposed "insiders" McGuire will actually voice his opinion and he does it often, and is usually right. He also has an encyclopedic knowledge of the players. I was in radio for a little while and I know a lot of what happens is prepared or at least anticipated, but you can't "prepare" or "fake" what McGuire knows. He has an incredible memory. The guy is fully engaged in hockey. Compare this to the other two main "hockey insiders", Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger. YAWN!!!! These guys never have an original thought. McKenzie did once upon a time but not lately. Dreger says everything as if it's confidential insight, but I don't think I've EVER heard him say anything that wasn't already obvious. Comparing these three guys, there's no contest. McGuire is interesting - he says things I don't already know, he makes predictions, he' has REAL inside stories. On a score of 1 to 10 for how worthwhile they are to listen to, I give: McGuire - 9 McKenzie - 2 Dreger - 0 (can I go lower?) ------------------------------------- Listen to the Smart Dog. Not sure I agree. Kane is sometimes a bit of a wild card off the ice, but ON the ice (where it counts most) he's a hard worker. I think he's worth the risk... and that MB might think so too. ------------------------------------- Listen to the Smart Dog. He knows his poop!

From previous page: IF you WANT to talk TRADES... you NEED to address this: Here’s the thing. I agree we need another top line winger. I have no idea why we didn’t go after Perron. The Pens got him for cheap. (I also have no idea why we’ve snubbed Jagr for years… but I digress.) Here’s the question: would you be comfortable if we traded someone of REAL value (and other assets) to get a top line winger? Gallagher and a pick? Beaulieu and other assets? Because that’s what we need to do. We don’t have a winger on the farm and Therrien’s trying everyone to see if lighting can strike. But no lightning yet, it’s not even cloudy. The Habs need a REAL top line winger to go with Patches for the future. OR a top line center…. and that’s going to cost real assets. So who of value do you give up? ------------------------------------- Listen to the Smart Dog. He knows his poop!

5 QUESTIONS: 1. How good is Tokarski as a back-up? Top third of the league? Middle third? Bottom third? 2. With Tokarski in net instead of Price, would be be a playoff team? A 500 team? 3. Should Tinordi be playing in the NHL? 4. Who is the best Habs prospect who has NOT played a regular season game in the Bigs? 5. Why are passes to Sekac in front of the net almost always just out of reach? SD ------------------------------------- Listen to the Smart Dog. He knows his poop!

Shamaham deserves what he's getting. He was an incompetent in standing up for safety with the league. He's proving to be incompetent with the Laffs. I only hope it continues and he goes down in shame. ------------------------------------- Listen to the Smart Dog. He knows his poop!
