You can't criticize Gainey because we need a big centreman. I can't stand reading all these comments about how we need this and we should have traded for this and that. You CAN'T just go out and get someone. He does what he can with what we have. It seems as is people have no concept of what actually goes into a trade. The #1 reason we won: NO LATENDRESSE Only one other person has made this remark so far. All others are looking at smolinski, brisebois etc... It is interesting that you only consider a team - 'a team' if we win the cup. It is not the same every year. Players changes, rules change, coaches change but our expectations never change. Everybody should just take a deep breath and relax. Every team will go through it's fair share of slumps over the course of the season (Ottawa comes to mind immediately), so calm down! Can't you see why this is a tough city to play in? Not only do the players have to contend with 21000 booing fans, but about 100,000 different coaches and gm's. I'm sick and tired of hearing all these comment about Carbo and Gainey during this recent slump. We've been using the same system ALL YEAR LONG, with great success initially might I add, and NOW everyone wants to talk about how unsuccessful the offseason was and how stupid gainey is, and how inexperience carbo is. Do us a favor; spare the real fans who want to read constructive criticism and interesting observations from having to sort through all your garbage first. - Comment on And on the seventh day...

Makes you wonder how a guy with this much work ethic can be benched (twice!). I don't think it's possible for a coach to look any more indecisive. Are any of his coaching decisions actually based on some sort of precedent or does he just do as he pleases? If we had won last night, BIG DEAL, we can't go more than a game without Kostopoulos and Begin, so whats the point!?! Does he expect Kostitsyn to be dropping the gloves when things get edgy??? Smolinski to be blocking the shots?? By benching them both, Carbo took away two players who ALWAYS give 60 minutes. I hate carbo. - Comment on Canadiens win soap opera
Lately I'm getting the impression that the RDS guys aren't even watching the game. It takes them much too long to figure out where the penalty was, who deflected the puck...etc. I noticed this about 2 weeks ago and it's really started to bother me. I would be watching the ref signal a penalty and then hear pierre or yvon asking each other what happened. Pierre Mcguire is great. I find him to be one of the most knowledgable analysts in the business however a friend of mine made an observation that I now find slightly irritating. He uses so many personal stories! Sometimes its great, other times - pointless. Anyway, can't be too picky. After all, I don't know what i would do without the relentless coverage provided by RDS.
