Here is an article I wrote back in October 2008 on Denis Kane's website about a story I had with Jean Beliveau: To me, Jean Beliveau symbolizes the true Habs player on and off the ice. There is never a day goes by where Jean will sign an autograph or spare a few minutes to talk to a fan during his busy schedule. I remember back in 1993, and I drove with my buddies to attend the Stanley Cup final Game 5 in 1993 in Montreal from Hamilton. We all arrived the hotel the eve of the game and while my buddies were ready to go out out and party the night away, I decided to find out if it was true or not if Jean Beliveau’s number was located in the book and would meet up with my buddies at the bar later. Sure enough, I found his name in the book and I was curious to see if he wanted to chat with a Habs fan from Hamilton. Before you know it, Jean answered the phone and we talked a good 30 minutes. I apologized for talking so long to him on the phone and he requested my name and address. Several weeks later, I received a package in the mail. A beautiful 8×10 personalized signed photo of Jean with several signed postcards to be given to my friends! To end this story, I caught up with Jean at a Toronto Expo Card show 5 years later. The look in his eyes when I told him that I spoke to him on the eve of Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final is priceless. He remembered and gave me a solid handshake and smile that I will never forget for the rest of my life. Jean, you are a true gentleman and will always be a part of my life as well as other Habs fans as well! I salute you! Well this day has come and I give blessings to Jean and his family on this sad day. Jean, Jesus is waiting for you on the other side! God bless you for the wonderful memories on the ice as a player and off the ice as a true human being! "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "
- Comment on Habs trade Travis Moen to Dallas for Sergei Gonchar (2014-11-11 14:33:54)
I get that feeling that Tangredi will be coming up from Hamilton soon to give us some grit as well if Prust or Weise go down injured. He's a big boy! "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "

The trade for Gonchar reminds me of visions of Kaberle in my head. Bad trade!!!!!!!!!! "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "
- Comment on Canadiens put Rene Bourque on waivers, recall Jarred Tinordi from Hamilton (2014-11-10 10:18:38)
The management and coaching staff are finally waking up! If you do not give 100% effort in donning the CH, you will either sit, get demoted or waived form this club! No job is safe if you wear the CH! Good move waiving Bourque, perhaps Tangredi will be coming up soon. "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "

The question is....why was he not honoured the same time as Geoffrion was honoured and had his jersey No. 5 retired? This was a huge blunder by the organization. Next to be honored...Toe Blake then Scotty Bowman! "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "

I am not surprised at the inconsistency of this team game in and out but quite surprised we are getting blown out in losses. Players are way too over confident knowing they are labelled as a contender in the East by fans and the media. We need to shore up our D by making a trade for a physical defensive oriented DMan and another offensive forward. I'd play Sekac more and sit out Eller or Bourque. Hopefully, this is a lesson to be learned by the team. "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "

Good morning CJ, All I am saying is that hockey is a physical sport with a gruelling schedule. Tinordi needs to play game by game period with his physical style of play and learn more by playing more. I want to see more of Eller up his game but if you watch him as well, he gives up so easily and collapses on his defensive game. Can't blame Bourque on his play because Bourque is Bourque even from his days in Calgary, and you don;t know what kind of game Bourque will have, an enigmatic hockey player IMO. I'd like Eller to step it up that's all. If he can;t then I am sure we need to trade for someone who can. We got too many defensive specialists on the team. Eller has the offensive talent, so let him prove it game in and out. "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "

Brother Dubonye Mike, I would prefer him to play another season in Hamilton and teach him more and more. He can;t really learn more by watching videos or sitting on the bench more games. Remain blessed as always DM! "We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "

I really like the team we assembled this year but down the stretch in the season, we will see we need a solid physical DMan and another scoring player up front. Eller and Tinordi do not cut it for me on this roster, defensive liabilities big time. I'd bring up Pateryn to replace Tinordi and was quite surprised they kept Tinordi on the squad. The team needs to be consistent as well game in and out. Not wait until the playoffs come to show what they are capable of. 82 games is a long haul schedule but the players are paid big bucks to perform.
