The Weaver deal unfortunately isn’t a prelude to another deal… Just took this excerpt from the article, Changing on the Fly for New Hab Weaver, Canadiens.com… “I haven’t had a chance to speak to many people, but I spoke to Marc [Bergevin] and Michel [Therrien] this morning,” mentioned Weaver. “They just welcomed me to the team and said they had been looking at me earlier in the year but the Panthers at the time were in a playoff push. Now that’s not really the case, so they were able to bring me in.”

If I paid good money to see the game at the Bell Centre I paid to see one of the best Dmen in the NHL, one P. K. Subban and to see him on the ice in the third period to give us a chance to win! MT and his old school antics will get him run out of Dodge before long and if MB allows this to happen he could be riding shotgun!

@Cape Breton, we got screwed out of it on CBC as well in Newfoundland, but thankfully I have RDS so I get every Hab's Game. On a different note, I agree with "savethepuck", MT looks like a genuis for putting Gally With Patches and DD but the Eller/Chucky line has gone into deep freeze due in large part to the down grade in skill and finish from Prust... Love Prust but I have seen countless opportunities/potential opportunities wasted for that line because of Prust's lack of skill... Prust has to be moved off that line and replaced by Borque when healthy or DB in the short term until Borque returns. Will the real Carey Price please stand up?! Boy, has he ever stood up, props to Stephan Waite and MB for getting Waite. For, Price looks like the Superstar we saw glimpses of and hoped would show up consistently every night!

RE: Subban not helping his Team Canada Status, I think that is the very problem for Subban is trying to do too much to help his Team Canada Status due in large part to the media frenzy (TSN - Toronto Sports Network) sparked in part by MT's comments regarding Subban over the past few weeks! Subban just needs to do what he does best and play, not to impress Stevie Y and Canadians, but rather to help the Canadiens! I agree, he looked aweful last night! DD and DB look to be rounding into form, if this is a sign of what is to come, MB doesn't have as much pie on his face afterall and the Habs have the depth that we hoped for prior to the puck dropping on the season! Hope Bournival isn't injured seriously for he animates the two otherwise lifeless corpses on his line! I like what Gally brings to Patches and DD on that line but it seems as though Chucky and Eller are missing the chemistry he brought to their line. Murray, inept in every aspect of defence unless someone runs into him... Watching him last night was utterly painful! Liked the adjustment MT made last night by switching Moen and DB to put a bigger body on Ovy, good in game adjustment! I am liking the upward curve we are on, hopefully we keep it going tonight against Crosby and Co. Happy Hockey Night in Canada everyone!

I have been purusing here for quite some time, I really don't care what someone's opinion is as long as it coincides with mine! :P Just kidding, I like that people are passionate regardless of whether they are a dumba$$ or not!

My balanced approach is merely an introduction... I can and will adapt when the need arises! ;)

Hey everyone, I have been reading your comments for what seems like forever and I really enjoy this forum so I decided to finally register an account... A little bit about me: I am a die hard Hab's Fan and I have been since the age of four and I am currently 41... My favorite player is and will always be Larry Robinson... Saddest moment as a fan would have to be the Patrick Roy trade. Greatest goaltending performance I have witnessed was Patrick Roy during the 93 Cup run. I like the direction the Habs are going in but I am not particularly fond of the term of the DD contract or the acquisition of Briere (I hope both prove me wrong for we are but a 1/4 into the season)... I understand signing DD to an extension based on what he was doing at the time, but did MB have to sign him for this long of a term?! We have him for another three years after this one... Briere is an aging star and we have him for another year yet... Not to mention that he snubbed us for Philly a few years back (when he still had game), even after a personal call from the Great Jean Beliveau during the negotiations... Being a life long Hab's Fan, I don't forget that $&%t... I am trying to put in perspective that MB is rebuilding through the draft and still has to shed some of the Gainey/Gauthier contracts, but the bottom line is we are still undersized... Being undersized wasn't a bad thing last year until injuries crept in (especially Emelin) for we played a fast countering style based on speed, which I am hoping the Minny game was a sign of what's to come... For MT had the boys playing the ugliest, boring hockey I have watched the Habs play in quite some time... Hopefully that was a by product of the injuries and we return to form... MT... He will be good for developing young players as long as MB keeps him on a tight leash interms of our budding superstars like P.K. Subban... I have never seen a coach incite such media negativity around a star player ever, since I have been watching hockey!!! He has almost single handedly taken Subban off the Olympic team and I firmly believe MB intervened and that is why it stopped! As with Crosby and Co. MB's antics wear thin eventually and he is tuned out... I sincerely hope MB truly realizes Subban is a once in a generation type player that should outlast both him and more especially MT with our famed hockey club!
