Being benched can do two things to a young player:
1. It can cause a player to lose the jump in his step, and do everything on the side of caution, as seen with Obyrne.
2. It can motivate a player to show that he belongs in the lineup.
Subban doesn't strike me as the type of kid that is going to back down from a challenge. I expect him to learn from the benching, and come out flying tonight. He is to type of player that tries to prove himself every time he steps on the ice, and tonight, he's going to play his heart out.

I really don't think Cammy deserves a suspension for his actions. That stuff goes on every game (retaliation). What should be looked at is that head hunting Nino was doing, and the houlder to head hit he layed out on cammy before the whole thin went down.

The team is really starting to shape up. I think management really has a good idea of what needs to be done in order to win in this league.
We finally have some real good, young, third and fourth liners, who are actually groomed to play the 3rd/4th line rather than top 6 forwards that just didnt make it. Our top 6 is set, we don't need to boost it with anyone, and our defense is a mix of young (obyrne, gorges, subban), and old (hammer, spacek, gill), and offensively gifted (markov). Our goaltending, in spite of the constant fight for #1, has never been a problem, and won't be the deciding factor this year.
Things are looking good. Lets sign lapierre and price, and maybe a 7th defenceman (andy sutton) and give it another go!

Man, it's so frustrating to see ppl bash PG on this Auld acquisition. We are not looking to replace Carey Price (we made it clear that he was going to be our guy of the future when we traded Halak). Why on earth would we sign a potential starting goalie (biron, ellis...) when we want to build Price into a starting goalie. We are looking for quick 1 year contracts for guys that can fill in for 10-20 games, while our #1 gets a rest. We arent looking to make the starting role a competition!! Those days are gone, and good riddens....
Are goalie position is set, and was set the second Halak was peaced...now lets look to fill in the 3rd and 4th lines, and maybe add a 1-2 mil big bruiser on the back end. I'm actually hoping we land Andy Sutton...man would he protect markov!

This may be the most nervous i've ever felt for a habs game...and it's not because we are in tough against them, but rather because it may be a coming out party for our boys. I'm nervous/excited to see what they are going to bring to the table tonight.
The key will be to put on some ealry pressure and make them make acouple mistakes. Their fans aren't to pleased with them and if we can establsih some ealry pressure, their fans may snap and start booing and such! On that note, i hope cammy can continue his first period heroics!
