The doctor is in. Last night's final score was flattering. Our boys were simply never in this one from start to finish. The team was obviously spent and had nothing more to give. It could have easily been a blowout if not for #35. There are 2 types of players in hockey. Those that get you there and those that get you through. The Habs are stocked with a lot guys that fall into the former category and not enough that fall into the latter. It will be MB's job in the offseason to figure out this equation and make the necessary moves to get this team to the next level. Have a great summer Mr. Boone. Enjoy the time off. Cheers to all. The doctor is checking out.

The doctor is in. It may not be over but it sure feels like it. After 5 games one can say with certainty that it looks like the the lemon has been squeezed dry. Some players look like they have nothing left to give and others simply look like they don't want to put in the effort it takes to get to the next level. It sucks to say this but the series against the Bruins may have taken the mojo out of the Habs. In 5 games our heroes have had only 2 leads. One for 17 seconds and another for 1:30. That my friends says it all. It's hard to have to play catchup hockey all the time. Take Price out of the equation, add an AHL goalie and you are looking at some pretty slim odds. When it does come to an end I think that Bergevin will have a much clearer picture of the what his team needs and the moves that will have to be made to get there. I am proud of our young players. As for some of the veterans who should be leading the way. Shame on you. You know who you are.

Last nite's game was the definition of the term winning ugly. The Habs were absolutely brutal in their own end for pretty much the whole game. I don't know what the final tally was for turnovers but they cannot expect to play like that and win every nite. Special dishonours go to Plekanic and Gionta who were both M.I.A. Kudos to the kid in nets for saving our hydes. Let's hope he has at least one more like that in him.

The doctor is in. Well that was painful to watch. The end result was never really in doubt. I can't say for sure that I know what is ailing this bunch. The team simply does not look prepared to compete. If there is a team system someone please tell me what it is. The players themselves don't give the impression that they know what the system is. The best example of this was given by Benoit Brunet last nite during the 2nd intermission when he showed a replay of single shift in which Eller|Prust combo gave the puck away or had it stripped from them 8 times. 8 times!!!! In a single shift!!!!!. Most teams don't have that many turnovers in an entire game. Now I will leave it up to you to decide if this is on the players or on the coach and his staff. It's one thing when this happens once in a while but this has been going on for over a month now. And the powerplay? Why is it so difficult for this team to gain entrance to the offensive zone? Why is this team incapable of setting up anything down low? Some players faces pretty much say it all. Just look at Maxpac\s face during the game. The players are becoming more and more frustrated the way the game is being played. Right now I say it is on the coach.

I am not sure what the avg age is of the people who post on this site. I am 58 yrs old and have had the pleasure of watching the Habs win 12 Stanley cups in my time. I can only imagine what it is like for those posters who have never ever seen this team even win a single cup. Like most of you I have lived through the dark years since 93. Through the constant coaching, gm, player and ownership changes. I have really tried to stay positive even though there has been little reason to remain so. I have watched every game this year and just find it hard to see anything positive about this team. For the last month or so the games have been pretty much unwatchable and the results pretty predictable as well. For the first time ever I just feel like throwing in the towel with this team. How much more can a fan take when it comes to watching this organization stumble and fumble it's way through another long season of disapointment.

The doctor is in. Is it me or have the last 4 or 5 games been absolutely brutal to watch? After what transpired in Carolina it looked as if last nite would be a repeat. We took 7 of 12 pts on this road trip but easily could have 10 if we could have beat Florida and Carolina, two dreadful teams going nowhere. I see alot things that I don't like right now. Such as......... No forecheck The D giving up the blueline too easily Confusion in D zone leading to players overstaying their shifts. Little if any offensive creativity. Doling out of ice time does not make any sense. Why do players (veterans) who contribute nothing continue to get ice time while our young guys sit and watch This looks like a repeat of late last season. The good thing is that they have time to turn this around and right the ship. That will be MT's job in the second half. If he is not able to do it he will become a lame duck coach going into the last season of his contract next year. Let's hope he can pull it off.

The doctor is in. Couldn't agree more. The shootout is an abomination. Can't wait for the O.T changes next year which should basically get rid most of the shootouts. What a sham. The game deserves better.

Bobinsak. Agreed. Bournival brought something to the 4th line last nite. My concern is that when the team is behind on the scoreboard he may be limited to 7 or 8 minutes of icetime. The kid deserves to play more and with more accomplished linemates. Robert Monti

The doctor is in. For the love of God can someone explain to me what Bournival is doing playing on the 4th line. The kid has way too much natural talent and hockey smarts to end up on line with White and Moen. Cudos to the kid for still manging to pop one anyway.

The doctor is in. I know it's only 20 games into a 82 game sched but if things don't change quickly the Habs could find themselves outside looking in by the end of December when it comes to a playoff spot. It could bee too late by then . I hope I am wrong.
