Well, following the Leafs epic, nuclear apocalypse of a collapse, the world is safe again...but for HOW LONG? Probably a long time, they're a mess. BTW, have you found me a hammock yet? Up and Atom!

I'd agree about the Bruins, but not the Leafs. When the Habs and Bruins both have strong teams, there's no better rivalry in sports. Can't say I'm terribly sad to see them struggling at the moment though. With the Leafs...these days I think the 'rivalry' is mostly manufactured. On the ice, they haven't really been rivals during my lifetime. I think what annoys a lot of Habs fans and disguises itself as rivalry is the suffocating Leafs-centred media coverage. We have to put up with HNIC bias (i.e. talking from the Leafs perspective even when talking about the Habs), Don Cherry, the first 7 minutes of Sportscentre covering the Leafs game while the next 7 covers all the remaining games, etc, etc. The media has come to represent the Leafs and so the rivalry seems real and intense, but on the ice there doesn't seem to be much to it. Seems likely if they want to up their chances for the top two picks. BTW, do you know where I could find some business hammocks? Up and Atom!

If (big if, considering how the boys are playing recently) anyone one here is interested in going to the game against Tampa next Saturday, I have one extra ticket in either Section 323 or 333 (we have two separate pairs and there are only 3 going now). Face value for what I paid through the ticket vault, which was $90 or $105 depending on the section. That plan is that my two brothers and I are flying in on Thursday night, watching the Tampa and Jets games over the weekend and then heading to a bar to watch the Superbowl before crawling out to the airport Monday morning. We'll be having a very early afternoon pint prior to the game on Saturday, so we could always meet up before the game for a pint and ticket exchange. Or we could meet on Friday under similar circumstances. I'll put up my email for a little while and then take it down after a bit or as soon as someone says they want the ticket... firstname.lastname@example.org If it provides any sense to security, I'm not a newbie to the site even if I post pretty infrequently. Send me an email if interested in the ticket, or even just meeting up for pints with some western Habs fans over the weekend. Hopefully we'll have some better hockey to watch by then! Cheers, I was actually just reading up on both places and will definitely be checking them out. Thanks The goggles do nothing!

Food-wise we're pretty much a blank slate. Definitely going to do smoked meat once or twice. Otherwise we basically just want to try out some different places. Burgers, craft beer, curry, steak, pizza, poutine, pub food, doesn't matter. Really just interested in finding some excellent local places (keeping in mind that we'll be walking for the most part). For the Superbowl we really just need to find a place that we can get into, has good beer, and decent TVs. The goggles do nothing!

Ok, since some of the talk this morning has been around food, this would seem like a good time to ask. My brothers and I are planning a trip in for Superbowl weekend to watch the Habs games (unfortunately it's the Jets and Lightning, but whatever), followed by a trip to a bar to watch the Superbowl. Schwartz's will happen. What would most here consider the best smoked meat other than Scwartz's? Other food suggestions I should have on my shortlist? Also, best bar to head to for watching the Superbowl post-Habs game? Thanks! The goggles do nothing!
- Comment on Habs sign White for one year; Big Mac lands in London (2013-07-19 17:29:00)
That's what I keep thinking, if he can be +6 on the Oilers.... Plus a big body and throws it around, only 27. Probably nothing to the rumour but it's the type of signing I can see MB making. The goggles do nothing!

Thanks! I was thinking of using "Everything is coming up Milhouse" somehow but since I work in radiation therapy this avatar seemed better. The goggles do nothing!
