Yes he was. To pronounce his name one has to pronounce each letter as in the case of all turkic (including mongolian) dialects. So the "G" sounds like the g in great, letter "ü" sounds like the french letter "u" in the word "lumière"; the "y" is like in Galchenyuk's name and so is the "k". Btw, my last name is the name of the younger brother of Batu Khan (grandson of Genghis from his eldest son). Ali B.
