Mike Richards has commented to press that he thinks Subban is too cocky and doesn't show respect. In a related story he added that Evander Kane is getting uppity and Dustin byfuglien needs to be knocked down a peg or two. Bobby Clarke's only comment on the matter was that in his opinion Pat Burns is getting a little goofy.

Speaking of dangerous off ice activities - The Canadian Ball Hockey Championships were held recently in St. Johns. If any of you have ever played ball hockey for any length of time you would know the long term effect on your knees that running on concrete has. The surfaces are usually a little slippery and it is a tough sport to play at a high level. A Newfoundland team won and had two NHL players on it - Adam Pardy of the Flames and Teddy Purcell of Tampa Bay. I was surprised that they are allowed to play this in the off season. It also had an Ex NHLer that you might all remember - Terry Ryan, our one time first round pick.

Still more proof that Jack Todd is a major league idiot, as if we needed it.

Perhaps the team can use the same "nothing to lose attitude" we just faced against our last three opponents to make some noise in the playoffs. Since the Olympic break we beat Boston twice, Buffalo, the Rangers and Philadelphia with a lot riding on it. Now that we are in and playing other teams with something to lose, maybe they won't like the prospect of playing a fast, albeit small team with good goaltending and better than average special teams. Lets cut the boys some slack and enjoy the ride!
