Brian Burke looks like he's saddled up at a bar. There is a top-button on that shirt, y'know! /\\ike GO HABS GO!

There has been a great amount of speculation that the next CBA will include a one-time amnesty buyout where buyouts will not count against cap hits. Both ownership and the NHLPA would be in favor of such a thing because it's beneficial to both sides and would allow them to more easily adjust to whatever tweaks they make to the economic system. /\\ike GO HABS GO!

For me this is easy: Patrice Brisebois & Patrick Traverse. THE WORST Habs defensive pairing ever. EVER! /\\ike GO HABS GO!

Hahaha sorry - tonight's game against the Bruins - just added that in - good catch. I can e-mail them to whomever wants them, but sadly I don't include train tickets :) /\\ike GO HABS GO!

Do you still have faith in this team? Want to show it? I have two tickets (side by side, yes) in Club Desjardins 209 that someone backed out of for TONIGHT'S game against the Bruins and I need to sell them. The same tickets would have cost you around $530 on the Canadiens website. They are yours for $350 for the pair. These include ALL YOU CAN EAT concessions, free coat check etc. If you're interested, please e-mail me at mmclaren and then after that do an @ sign and yahoo.com which hopefully just defeated some spam bots ;) /\ike GO HABS GO!

Mike Cammalleri: 5 GP, 1G, 0A, -4 with the Flames Rene Bourque: 5 GP, 2G, 1A, +1 with the Canadiens I'll miss Mike Cammalleri's razzle-dazzle, his clutch playoff goals, his one-timer off the knee, and if he was traded for his comments and not because it was a hockey improvement, I have some issues with that, but... So far, so good. Rene Bourque definitely goes to the net. I'm fine seeing more goals like the one he scored tonight. /\\ike GO HABS GO!
  • Comment on Liveblog: Man, they needed that! (2012-01-15 16:46:29)
As unlikely as it is the Canadiens would finish 30th, the worst they could do is draft 2nd if they lost the lottery. (This happened to the Flyers when they drafted JVR 2nd overall after losing the lottery, wherein the Blackhawks drafted Kane - you can only slip down 1 spot). But here's the better thing (and PURE conjecture obviously)... IF they have the #1 pick, they should consider trading down to #2 because #1 and #2 are considered to be rather close. We've all heard of Nail Yakupov, but Mikhail Grigorenko would be more of what suits the Canadiens' need. Summary: Nail Yakupov 5'9" winger Mikhail Grigorenko 6'3" center If the talent is very close between the two, who would you pick if you were the Habs' GM? /\ike GO HABS GO!

Do you find that before coaches or GM's are fired the owner of the team says, "Hey, stay tuned, I'm going to fire someone next week!"? Doesn't usually play out that way. It usually comes within a week of said "vote of confidence." /\\ike GO HABS GO!

That would be a huge rip-off... I'd think about it for Shea Weber though LOL /\\ike GO HABS GO!

Well, as a sumiteer, I was certainly impressed if that's what they were trying to do. We joke about "never in doubt" but it was a great thing to witness a game where that was pretty much the case through 60 minutes of play. As always we had an excellent time at the summit and for once we got to see a win! Good times. /\ike GO HABS GO!
