Great season, thanks Boone for your fine efforts, hilarious and insightful commentary, and the future looks bright! Bergevin looks to have a busy summer ahead. Personally, I hope he keeps Markov and Weaver, and Subban too if he signs for reasonable money. Otherwise, I'd like to see Subban traded for a real power forward, as I feel our defence looks good with Beaulieu, Tinordi, and Pateryn coming up. With Gorges, Markov and Weaver in the fold, they can help bring up the young guys. Beaulieu is the future PP quarterback, and offensive catalyst from the blueline. Weise is another keeper, while the jury is out on Vanek. If he really wasn't injured during the playoffs, as Therrien claims, then Bergy shouldn't even offer Vanek a contract. Regardless, Vanek is headed to Minny. Good luck to them if that's what he'll bring in the playoffs. So looking forward to the progress of Galchenyuk and Eller next year. Gallagher, Pacioretty, Desharnais, and Prust are already bringing what they can, while Pleks is looking tired, might be trade bait for younger, stronger centre. Gionta should be gone, as should Briere (good luck finding a taker for his last year at $4 M). Bourque? Will he bring it all year like he did these playoffs? History suggests no, so trading him while his value is high might not be a bad idea. We did it with Halak after 2010, and in hindsight, keeping Price and getting Eller look like the right move. Good luck Bergy, tough decisions and signings to come, but with Dudley, Timmons, and Savard helping out, you guys looks to be on the right track. Keep finding gems like Weaver and Weise, and we'll be lifting the Cup before the end of the decade! Nice job guys. Preparation + Opportunity = Good Luck

Entirely agree about the non-postings and CBC's laughable anti-Habs bias. CBC sucks, simply put. Total lack of professionalism, strong anti-Habs bias, strong pro-Leafs, pro-BRUINS! bias, from the national, taxpayer funded carrier! HNIC crew is a joke (except for Elliott Friedman), bring on Sportsnet already. If it wasn't so maddening, you could really see how sad it was after MTL beat Boston in game 7, that Habs fans had to stomach CBC's gutlessly broadcasting 10 minutes of commercials, then the closing credits, while NBC! broadcast Pierre McGuire interviewing PK Subban! Makes me glad the Harper government keeps cutting back CBC's funding, and I HATE the Harper government! How's that for a rant? :-) Preparation + Opportunity = Good Luck

I think Therrien did the right thing. While I agree that there were lots of other passengers to make an example of, that does not make benching Subban for his selfish penalty a bad decision. Look at Ovechkin and his selfish 'leadership', and that is exactly where the Habs are headed if Subban doesn't learn to mature and lead by example. Yes he is our most talented player, but unless he learns to play unselfishly like Yzerman learned under Bowman, Habs fans can keep deluding themselves that this team can reach the Cup. I would rather see Subban traded if we can't sign him for reasonable money (max $7.5 M per) or if Bergevin and Savard don't have faith he is ready to put the team first. Lidstrom, Sakic, Yzerman set the bar as the best players on their team that lead by example. Take note PK. You have ridiculous, God given, game breaking talent and an exuberance and infectious enthusiasm for the game that is the most exciting thing in a Habs uniform since Lafleur. DON'T make me glad the Habs braintrust traded you. PLEASE make them sign you by proving you will make better decisions every game going forward. That is the only thing that seperates you from following Toews' path vs. Ovechkin's. Preparation + Opportunity = Good Luck

Congratulations to MB! Signing of Prust to 4 yr/$10M contract should have been good indication to all that EFFORT and DEDICATION are highly valued during MB's reign. Cole never seemed to get the message this year, so now we'll see if Ryder will. I'm betting he fits in better than Cole did with Therrien's new system. Preparation + Opportunity = Good Luck

Apologies for the blank comments, new on this site and seem to have a delay issue while typing. While we can go back and forth on the merits of trading Plekanec and whether or not he's responsible for his wingers lack of production, or vice versa, I think we can all agree that it doesn't hurt to investigate a trade and see what Pleks could fetch, and execute that trade if we thought it was good for the Habs in the long run. Personally, I do think Pleks is a lightning rod for discontent, and is undervalued. Not saying he doesn't fade every year as the season closes, or that he's not at least somewhat responsible for his winger's lack of production, just that I'm definitely not comfortable trading him, promoting Eller to #2 centre, and hoping/assuming Eller will reach his potential. Show me what we'll get for Pleks, and then we'll talk. Preparation + Opportunity = Good Luck
